The Penguins won that series far more than anything the Caps did to lose it. Orpik was not going to make that difference playing in 3 more games. The caps won 1 of those games without him anyway.

Alright douchebags. Doing the bracket challenge again.

http://bracketchallenge.nhl.com/#/league/160652

That should work for the link and the password is "omgcg"

Haven't tried this but found this post from last year.

Edit: Meaning I doubt it'll work but it's on Tim to create it.

Disagree. There was a terrible turnover that led to the winning goal. Again, going from memory. Orpik plays the whole series the Caps would have won.

Theres really no basis for your argument. He played in games 1 and 2, Caps went 1-1, played in game 6, Caps lost in OT.

If the Caps win game 3 with Letang out it wouldve been a different series, but Murray stole that game and it played out the way it did.

An aging, slow, stay at home defensemen who was having a bad year that season was not going to dictate the outcome of 2 more games going the Caps way with the level of speed and style of hockey the penguins were playing last spring.

But whatever helps you sleep at night, bud.

I don't need an argument, I watched the series. We disagree.

Re: The NHL Thread (where the Presidents Trophy matters!)

My Predicitions:

East

Rangers (4) Canadiens (3)--Something tells me King will finally step up when it counts. Had a rough year but should def step up now

Senators (4) Bruins (2)--Senators just too much for a very mediocre B's team

Capitals (4) Leafs (1)--Caps should take this one with ease, and if Penns advance this will be a good warm up for their style of play

Penguins (3) Blue Jackets (4)--Crotchbaby will have a double post shot go out with 2 mins left in game 7, pissed off he will go on a crotch shot rampage

West

Blackhawks (4) Predators (1)--Preds will be reminded who their daddy is

Wild (4) Blues (3)--Wild should eek this one out just barely

Ducks (4) Flames (2)--Flames play very very fast. Only chance of them winning is to out run the Ducks

Oilers (3) Sharks (4)--Oilers still a little young, Sharks experience should help them in game 7

Know what series could end up being awesome? Ducks/Flames. Two fast, gritty teams. Could be some good battles.

You're aware that there's more to a game than one play right?

The Pens were better than the Caps, plain and simple. The Caps tried really hard and played really well. And the Pens were better. Orpik makes 0 difference. Don't be that fan.

I am as well. For some reason the I've always found the Oilers captivating. It's nice to see them do well as I know that place will be crazy for playoff hockey. That will be fun to watch.

Yeah same. Ive always viewed them as like the anti-leafs. Oils are definitely my favorite canadian team, it might just be their unis that drew me to them when I was a kid :lol

I dont hate the Leafs, but their fans, media etc dont deserve shit.

While I think the Habs have the advantage, I am excited for this series. Especially if the Rangers can win game 1. That place is going to be electric on Wednesday! Can't wait to hear the crowd every time Kreider touches the puck :lol

I know Tim is super busy right now, so I went ahead and created this year's bracket challenge. NHL's website is hot garbage right now, so maybe wait until tonight to fill it out.

A lot went wrong in that series. And a lot went wrong in game 6 in general

Yeah, I mean...the guy brought two Cups, but it seems like his time was way past the expiration date.

http://nypost.com/2015/04/11/calenda...hampion-kings/

Will never forget that ^

Also, Lombardi with those contracts. Eeeessshhh. What the hell do you do with a ~$5m Marian Gaborik that doesn't have the speed he used to and can't score anymore?

Hopefully Blake is more of an Yzerman than a Sakic in the GM department!

Yeah, it's been clear to the public that the players grew less and less fond of Sutter. Also a lot of people don't understand how much Brown deflected stuff from his teammates. Kopi is lucky he only had a year of that.

It's going to be quite the interesting off season and more interesting start of the season. I'm very nervous .
