Eh, not surprised in the least (except I'm surprised he actually got a fine.) Whatever. Sheary appears to be fine. Retaliate by winning Game 2 (and Games 3 through 5, preferably ;)).

Indeed

I thought he'd get a game. Though I'm not shocked he didn't

Amazing how they give a guy eliminated three games and another just a fine. Fucking suspend all bad hits. Be consistent. That's how you get it to stop.

Agreed. The inconsistency is mind boggling. I feel like if the Flyers had've won game 6 Schenn's suspension either wouldn't have happened or it would've only been one game. But since they were already out they went ahead with a standard regular season style suspension. Because apparently the league encourages the idea of leniency in the playoffs for illegal hits.

It's so dumb.

Yeah first 3 games of 82 they think don't mean anything. That's the problem. Hit em where it hurts.

Honestly, I don't think he was cheering against the Hawks due to any malice but simply cheering for another team to make a deep run at the expense of the Hawks. Or he just hates me, who knows! :lol

Agreed, will be cheering for both though I won't be heartbroken to see Dallas win.

Yeah, that looked intentional as hell.

Think most of us saw that coming a mile away - losing 4 game 7's at home in a row tends to make a team question their coaching staff, though admittedly the players have to take some blame themselves.

Yeah, they do tend to screw up almost everything. If they had better management the NHL would be attracting many more fans IMO.

Yeah, that is pretty pathetic and demonstrates both an inconsistency and a double standard. The same penalties, fines or suspensions should be handed out for similar infractions to any player (from the best to the worst) whether it is game one of the regular season or game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Wish they'd show some damn consistency!

Sounds like from what Sakic has said that Roy's job is safe for now. I think he gets one more season. Ottawa is a significant possibility.

I think Boudreau would be a great fit in Ottawa.

Having watched the highlights now, the Wilson hit was clearly dirty. I think he gets a bad rap a lot and defend him, but that was way over the line. I wouldn't have argued with a suspension. No excuse for that kind of hit. I was expecting him to get 1-2 games (=3-5 regular season games) and was prepared to hear Latta was in the lineup tomorrow.

Re: The NHL Thread

This Dallas/St.Louis series is going to be great to watch. Elliot and Lehtonen look damn sharp through one period. STL D looks solid as usual while the Stars O looks solid as hell too. Benn is a smart player but STL is doing a good job of shutting him down (ditto with Tarasenko) so I think Spezza, Sharp, Parayko, or Schwartz may be the wild card guys who could change a game. This is going to be one hell of a physical series. No clue how Backes didn't put that 2 on 1 in the back of the net. Best guess, STL in 7.

Seriously. I respect that the Sharks and Stars are good teams, but man what a boring western finals that would be. Really hope the Preds and Blues turn it around.

I don't mind the Stars as much because I like Jamie Benn. And I otherwise like the talent on the team. But yeah, Preds and Blues would be much better.

Excited for the game this afternoon. I'm expecting Bishop to come out much sharper in this game and hopefully the team can play with more of that 3rd period energy from Wednesday night. Good luck to the Islander fans

How would that be boring?? :BANG:BANG Sharks are pretty good offense with lots of speed. Seems Nville- St Louis would be boring.. Plus, San Jose bringing the physicality of an LA, Ana in years past.

Hockey wise, good series, but they are just not hockey markets that excite me.

To be fair, this is more about Dallas than the Sharks. If it is Dallas v San Jose, I will be rooting for the Sharks hard.

Bolts sure did come out firing today. Hopefully the Caps can take a 2 game lead later tonight.

Agreed on San Jose. I would not venture to pick in that Stars/Blues series - I like Benn but Elliot is simply amazing. Should be a great series. Blues have now played 8 postseason games this year all but one have been decided by a single goal and one went to OT and another went to double OT. They are a pretty resilient team IMO.

I won't be in here tonight as I'm working until 10 and won't be able to start watching until probably 11

If someone could let me know if it's Kenny Albert or Doc on the call that'd be great. I'll pop back in around 8 to see if anyone answers
