I really feel for Gabby. He's too good a coach for this to keep happening. Gotta think if this is it for him with the Ducks he won't be unemployed long. It's amazing he can't figure out the playoffs. He's never lost the division when he coached the full season.

Sure was. Now in the west 3 great teams fail to advance past the first round - Hawks, Ducks, and Kings. Going to be one hell of a round 2! Congrats to the Preds!

So I've gone to two playoff games here in Tampa the last two years. The first one was game 6 against the Rangers last year, they lost 7-3 and Bishop was pulled. Then tonight, they lost 5-3 and Bishop was pulled. :lol

I found out how the Ducks/Preds game happened by back reading the thread. Great stuff guys. Awesome for the Preds. I also feel bad for Bruce. But overall I'm very happy to have the 4 teams left in the West that we do. Someone who hasn't been there in a while will get to the Final. That's great.

Luongo's tweet was amazing by the way

Having tough matchups in the first round (2 going to seven games) and getting knocked out doesn't diminish how damn good those 3 teams are. Between them they have won 6 of the last 9 Stanley Cups - 3 to Chicago, 2 to LA, and 1 to Anaheim. This season is also the 4th straight season the Ducks finished first in the Pacific Division. Not a bad run for 3 teams at all - I would certainly call them great teams.

I think that Q and Sutter will be back behind the bench next season for Chicago and LA but last night may have cost Boudreau his job.

You are just happy the Hawks, Kings, and Ducks are out. If the Caps advance to the Finals you won't be facing them. Watch out for St. Louis though. Jesus they are a good team, 4 solid lines, a damn good defense, a goalie who is fucking unflappable, a good coach and a star to lead them in Tarasenko! :lol

It literally has nothing to do with that. Just happy to see some different teams advance besides the usual suspects.

With you here. I've said it 100 times, if the Wings are winning it every year, I have no problem with that. But if not, I want to see different teams win. That's one reason why I don't like the NBA. Predictable as hell.

Fair enough but there has to be a little part of you that is happy they are all having long summers and you won't have to face one of them if the Caps advance to the finals. :)

^ Nah. He can't worry about that because he needs to maybe try and get to the conference final first.

And whoever gets to the Final from the west, ya know what, they're going to be playing really good hockey and are going to be a really good team. Regardless if the top "powers" have already been knocked out.

Bingo.

The Final is still a pipe dream for me at this point. Huge obstacle currently in the way.

Capitals biggest test is this round imo. Not that the Lightning or Isles would be a cake walk but Pens are a better team and history is standing in their way more than anything.

Reports that Wings will announced the name of the new arena in a little bit. Can't wait for the big $$ that will be plastered on the side.
