It's honestly hard for me to even think of myself as a Rangers fan anymore as I'm so detached from them. It's funny how it switched by me moving to LA. Before I was die hard NY with Kings as a fun team to cheer for. Now I'm all about LA and am so out of touch with NY.

I get it. Had I never moved back to NJ from Boston I probably would have felt the same way about the Bruins. They were my strong #2 from 2005 until about 2012. When I moved back from Boston I slowly cared less and less.

Add that on with the Rangers getting hot and also losing to the Bruins in 2013 and I don't really feel all that attached to the B's any more.

I lived 3 minuted from TD arena in 2006 and went to 28 home games (I have the ticket stubs to back this up btw haha). However. I have not been to a Bruins game since 2010 now.

It really makes a difference, especially going to so many games. I of course go to a lot of home games (not a lot this year because of work) and it's easy to get swept up in it all. Being at the 2014 final? Yeah, it was weird having the Rangers lose such a heartbreaker, but it was also the most exciting thing I've been a part of. That night really solidified it for me, being a Kings fan as opposed to a Rangers fan.

I now just feel I am fan of certain Rangers players rather than the whole team. Stepan, Zucc, Lundqvist, Girardi..

P.S. Barbs, I took you saying the Bruins should lose out as you pulling for the Rangers tonight. Thanks for all the support!

You're welcome! Go Rangers!

I fully understand your love for him. It's only been 5 months and I've got a total man crush on the guy. He's the perfect player/human being.

If I lived in a different hockey town (currently living in no hockey town and its fucking brutal) I would say fuck you to that team. Fuck this rooting for a team because of proximity. I would go to the games just to heckle them

We all know why I primarily root for the Kings! Moving just pushed it along.

Because they have pretty uniforms? I assume that is the reason any woman roots for any sports team

Thanks Rangers. Now Wings need to do their own work and get a little more help tonight. Go Cats.

That's funny, the Senators also helped us out of our funk a little bit. Nice guys up there.

Wings are definitely the closest they have been to missing out. Hopefully my Rangers can help you out with a win tonight!

Side note: I never understood the Cubs fans that are Wings fans as well.

Haha I am a Tigers fan, who lives in Michigan. I went with Harrycaray more so from the Ferrell sketches... although I do like the Cubs and will root for them to win the NL over the same teams every year the cardinals or giants.

Two solid wins for the boys in blue! Hope they keep this kind of play rolling into the playoffs!

Also, I am rooting for the Wings to get in. Maybe we can win every game except the one against the Wings for you guys haha. Would love for that last game of the season to mean nothing for the Rangers.

I just want the season over, not missing the playoffs, just over to know what the result is. Obviously every game is important to the Wings but the two biggest is a back to back the last week against the Flyers and Bruins.
