Flames continue to impress I have to say. I mean when Gio went down, did anyone think they'd be on the brink of going to round 2?

Caps/Isles goes 7 I think. Maybe it's just history, but I have 0 confidence in the Caps.

Also, here is the pregame from The Joe last night. I know everyone does shit like this now, but it is so freaking cool with the Octopus arm coming out.

I'm worried about the Icelanders because my buddy who is a big fan texted me "rangers islanders round 2!?" After they won game 3. I told him to not get ahead of ourselves, but that definitely sounds like he jynxed his team haha. I mean, NYI have not one a playoff series since I have been watching hockey...which is 20 years. Definitely seems funny to jump ahead like that! We went to the finals last year and I still worried about getting out of round 1!

Glad I didn't stay up for the game. Sadly my wife came to bed like 4 minutes too early. Caps scored just a few minutes after I turned off the tv. I thought about going to the living room and watching but said fuck it. If I would have, I probably would have flipped over to the Hawks game and when it went to OT said "oh I'll keep watching. Someone will score soon...."

He didn't target the head at all. It ended up being the principle point of contact, which is really all that matters, but he certainly didn't target it. Not Wilson's fault he's 6 inches taller than Visnovsky

He really didn't stick his knee out either

Me too. Caps love to extend series and then choke ugly at the end

nashville, winnipeg and ottawa. all have played well enough to keep their series close, just can't get a break. i really think this is probably where the experience factor comes in.

that was hilarious last night when rinne couldn't find the puck :lol you could tell be everyones face that they just wanted to say "fuck it, we'll get it later"

Rebecca De Mornay 04-22-2015 09:23 AM

Re: The NHL Thread

of course ESPN will probably show the entire search for the puck and then 0.7 seconds of the actual game.

I watch PTI and that's it, other than any possible sports. NHL Network is where it's at for hockey highlights. And they do pretty well with the female hosts....

Hawks need to close out the series in Game 5 and get Duncan Keith some rest.

Also, Marcus Kruger was a beast last night. 4th line of Desjardins / Versteeg / Kruger actually looked really good together. Q finally gives Sharp a little more ice time and puts an end to the Kris-Versteeg-2nd-liner bullshit and whaddya know? Hawks dominated the last 3 periods of that game.

Cool to see Islanders fans throwing beer at the Caps players this time. I guess it's better than throwing beer at fans at least.

re Jared Stoll: caught by a security guard in a pat down to get into a pool? That's some bad luck.

Wet Republic security clearly means business. Lame, give him back his drugs, tell him to go put them in his Rom, and carry on...

If you can't root for Kimmo Timonen to get a Cup you have no soul.

Definitely would be happy for him but I couldn't cheer for the Hawks to win the cup no matter what happens with these next games in the Nashville series.

I don't agree that they dominated the last 3 periods. I thought it was pretty even honestly. It seemed like both teams had long stretches where they could not get it out of their zone.

Same, but I just really have no interest in watching Chicago win a 3rd cup. Has nothing to do with Nashville. Though I do think the Hawks will win again

Yeah, I don't want the Hawks to win again. If they do, I'll be happy for Timmo but I'm not gonna root for the Hawks because of it. Same went for Bourque in 2001. Fuck the Avs, but was happy for him. Wouldn't have been sad had they lost game 7.

Also, speaking of late nights, I want to again thank the NHL for moving the Wings east. A game ending before 10pm is amazing.

Joel Ward is literally the coolest. After watching the replays, sure looks like he tipped it. And immediately afterwards he celebrated as if it went off his stick. No matter though, it went in!

They might change it days from now. Just yesterday they changed the Wings 2nd goal from game 1 to Jurco. 5 days later.

Good on Carcillo. I will give him respect for this. (He still drove me nuts as a Pens fan when he was with Philly.)

Yeah, good on Carcillo. I always love seeing the human side of these guys.

Like he said, good on guys like Toews and Sharpie for being there for Carcillo. That's why they have letters on their chest.

I was watching one of those make-a-wish videos where a kid was going to spend a day with the Blackhawks. It seemed like it was Carcillo in particular who was right there with him the whole time.

So since I'm bored, and leaving soon, predictions for tonight:

Sens stay alive.
Rangers go up 3-1
Wild go up 3-1 (even though I had picked Blues to win the series)
Jets also stay alive. Eventually have to win one of those right?
