7 minutes in and Wings without a shot. Can't score goals that way. Maybe just to test Mrazek. They are just letting him get in the game.

A few reasons:

1) I'm very fearful they won't be able to score enough goals to win this series
2) I saw the absolute worst effort I've ever seen by any team in the playoffs ever last night. That scares me
3) The Caps seem to live or die with the first goal of a game. When they don't get it, they are fucked. This was never clearer than it was last night
4) I've been at this for a long time with this team. More often than not, they not only find ways to lose series, but to lose them in particularly embarrassing fashion

They have a chance, as hockey is at it's a core a very random game where the better team doesn't always win. But that's about as bad as night one could've gone. Not much reason for optimism at this time
