Eh I went Caps in 6. Against my better judgement. Obviously have them out to the Rangers in round 2.

That's probably the most wide open series. I see a "favorite" in most of the other series.

I love what the NBC deal has brought with all the games on tv. Also having CBC helps me too. Wednesday I get OTT/Mont and Caps/Isles then get Hawks/Preds at 8:30. THursday will be best with locally my game and then Rangers/Pens on CBC and NBCSN.

Agreed, it's a hard series to predict. I think the Capitals are a slightly better team though. Both have good defense, I think that washes. I think a huge key could be special teams. Caps are really good on the PP and the Islanders have a weak PK. I also like Holtby better than I like Halak and I think the Capitals stars are slightly better than the Islanders stars. But it will be close. And I could see it going either way.

I also think that a few of the underdogs around the league will put up a real fight. Specifically Ottawa, Minnesota and Winnipeg

For sure. Winnipeg, because of their history as the Thrashers, I could see them finding a way to lose in 5 and it never be close, but hope not. Want it to go 6 or 7 to get as many home games at the MTS Centre as possible. Wish Selanne was still with the Ducks. Would have been cool to have him face the Jets.

Minny has a shot at winning but they aren't rolling the way they were. Blues have choked two years in a row too so that gives me some pause.

Habs are the favorite but with how good the Sens have been, I have picked them. Sens were the team I'd least like to face if I was a top team. Detroit would be another if they could get their shit together, but won't hold my breath on that one. Would hate for Babcock to leave (if he does) by them getting trounced in round one.

That's exactly what's going to swing this to your favor. Our PK is terrible since mid-season. They looked so good early on, and just fell out of their stride there.
You hit the nail on the head; it's gonna be Caps PP > Isles PK.

Caps in 6, as much as it pains me.

NBC has a sports app that would allow you to watch all streaming games.....i BELIEVE also in-market games. Don't quote me on the last part.

so yes....they'll also be up for streaming on the NBC sports website.

Well, if the Islanders can stay disciplined and minimize the chances the Caps get, then it will be a non issue. Obviously the Caps will get some chances, New York needs to just contain it to an average of 2-3 opps per game. That's doable. That's the thing about relying on special teams. You're not guaranteed PP chances.

That said the Caps are playing a very agitating style of game this year so I expect they will get their looks.

Oh yeah, for sure. But I mean, if you sit there and worry about that kind of stuff, you'll drive yourself crazy. If he's ready to go, he's ready to go.

I'm just glad he's back.

Yup, and with the Isles coming off of a frustrating end of their regular season, I'm sure they'll be coming out of the gate for Game 1 a little too antsy and will fall prey to it.

Still, hope not. Gonna be entertaining for sure.
