Barely remember it honestly. Wings got into the playoffs anyways so didn't matter in the end.

Jackets fan thinks he's an expert on playoff hockey because of two playoff series in the entire existence of Columbus Blue Jackets history.

It should be noted, if many of my posts do not make any logical sense--I'm working on about four hours of sleep, and currently trying to pen a five page paper on Gettysburg.

Columbus penis cannon plz help. ASAP.

I love when people outside of the 'Burgh throw the "they almost moved" argument around like they know what they are talking about it. Mario used that as shrewd threat/negotiation tactic against Gov Fast Eddie, the county, and the city. And, it worked.

Oh btw, CrashintomeltingNumbers, When exactly did the Pens "purposely" tank twice? I missed that.

What is this "winning the Stanley Cup" you guys keep talking about? Sounds foreign to me

Oh, sorry Barbs. We should have been more sensitive to your situation.

The Stanley Cup is the trophy presented to the last team standing in the Stanley Cup Finals. It's the best trophy in all of sports.

The reason it sounds foreign is you're probably used to hearing about something called the "President's Trophy", which is presented to the team with the best win-loss record at the end of the regular season. Contrary to some claims within and without the Capitals organization, this trophy is not more important than the Stanley Cup.

For more on the Cup, see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VveCdLrkY1g

I'm just imagining Tim huddled over his computer with Youtube minimized just anxiously waiting for someone to talk about the Caps, Flyers, 'Canes, or Pens and merely queuing up a particular video as an appropriate response.

Fleury was sent down that year because of financial reasons so his arbitration would be delayed. This was pre-salary cap.

Also, those teams in 04 and 84 were so bad that there was no where to go but up. No matter the revolving door roster. Maybe they tried to tank, maybe they didn't. They still would have had the same draft slot.

Also, they got Malkin that year not Ovechkin.
