Zetterberg with 6 points in last 3 games and in on all the goals Wings have scored in those games.

So...why is Emery not the 1 in Philly?

Because Mason is better (I say this in light of his current performance)

Both are backups, but Mason has the slight nod in consistency. Emery can steal games every once and a while, but he's not a #1 either.

Wow refs just took a goal away from Datsyuk. An amazing one too, because Price sold a call. That would have put this away.

I mean...if I look at career W/L, GAA, and SV%...Emery is the choice. Not to mention, Mason has been a choke artist in the playoffs.

And if you look at career HR #s, Adam Dunn was a hell of a first basemen. You can't look at broad stats like that to make your choice as to who plays. Emery is not a starting goaltender. Mason was pretty solid throughout the season last year, but he mostly sucks too. I've never liked him, but he's definitely more "starter" quality at this point than Emery is.

And because of the goal called back, Wings lose 2-1. Fantastic.

I worked almost a 12 hours shift today, so I'm not even tuning in tonight. I'll watch later, but if any Flyers fan is melting over this performance tonight--I don't know what to say to them.

Dude, seriously. It's so nice to see. Him and my boy Seguin are lighting it up right now.

Pretty awesome that the Hawks' backup could start for half the teams in the league.

It's calls like that, that plays like that should be reviewable. Unreal how bad that call was.

Rusty is off his game in here. Mason is not a starter, but he has the potential. He has shown flashes of being able to compete, but he is in no way the savior of the Flyers franchise (though I prefer him to say Bryz). And just in case Zilla wanders in here, shut up about Bobrovsky

I'm off my game? The Flyers are ready to compete for a Cup aside from the fact that they don't have a goaltender...Emery gives them the best shot to win this year IMO...

The fuck team are you watching if you think the Flyers are ready to compete for a cup? I love this team, but they are not ready at all to compete and it isn't because of goaltending (though it is a big piece of the puzzle)

The Flyers are definitely not ready to compete for a Cup. They haven't been since 2011.

Yo JRS, awful Raffl is the way to go tonight, man. Two good scoring chances negated by two bad penalties.

I can't honestly remember a year when I flat out thought that the Flyers were definitely serious competitors for the Cup. 2010 was wonderful, but no way I thought that type of run was coming.

This isn't to say that I haven't given the Flyers hope to win it all, but not in the same sense that Blackhawks and Bruins fans must have at the beginning of the past few years

2011 they were favored by a few people to win the Stanley Cup. But you're right, there really hasn't been a year where they have been considered a favorite. 2004 they were really really close.

I would say '96 and '98 were the years that the media thought they were going to do it.
