People will request:
JTR
Build You a House
Cigarette Lit
You Never Know
Ants
Busted Stuff

Sirius will announce Dave will play:
Ants
Bayou
Come Tomorrow
Mercy
Sister
Jimi

You all know how this is going to go.

Not gonna lie, an acoustic Bayou would be pretty interesting to see. But I could leave all the others.

Too bad they couldn't release Tinley... there is no audio for this show.

This site is insane sometimes.

Sometimes? haha

Duh. "This is a request from Karen in Orlando. Karen has been a fan since 1994 and has been to over 200 shows. Karen wants to hear Sister. This one is for Karen." :BANG

100% agree. I am very happy that the DMB radio is going to be permanent, but I've had XM so long & I can't ever go back to FM. So many good stations

Don't even bother asking for rarities, it won't happen and its a waste of a vote when we are able to. Sorry but you're getting the basics, plus maybe a bone or 2 (think Dreaming Tree or The Stone not Crazy Easy or JTR)

Why is JTR necessarily a no? It's been played in the last two tours (even if not Dave solo..)

Well, we all know Dave doesn't really put a ton of effort in trying new things solo, JTR has never been played solo, so that is why its won't get played IMHO.

I think if any rare songs have a chance, they’d be Spoon, Dreaming Tree, #40, and maybe Loving Wings.

Stop it Bayou is horribly written especially the chorus. The only good part of the song is the breakdown/ending jam lol.

Glad to see that it’s become a permanent station and back to the lower number on the dial. Super pumped to relive Mexico night 2. It’s so so good. Probably my favourite of the three shows.

Would love if they added a live DJ who can really mix stuff up or dig out some cool full shows.

At least he went out with a bang:

I was there. Incredible to see him in such a small venue. I can't believe that was the last time solo; seems like a million years ago to me now.

This is great news (and some people still hating on it). There has been a lot of negativity in this thread and people who said it would never become a permanent station.

I've had SiriusXM the last 4 years and now that the DMB station is permanent it is just that much more of a bonus. I always call and tell them I'm canceling and get a good rate (usually $7-8 a month for all-access). It is nice to have on my commute or to stream at the house (even though I go through phases where I will only listen to podcasts or Apple Music).

How difficult is it to get the good renewal rate? My first year comes due in September. I got the All Access for around $8.50 a month for the first year.

Love to see/hear him play something like The Fly. That’d be a cool little gem to get out of a request thingee.

Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel

Hmm... it seems odd to me that they would launch a permanent DMB Radio channel, but then feature TWO Dave & Tim shows on the first two Fridays. I mean, I'm not complaining, especially about the Mexico set! But it seems odd. Also, since it's Dave solo on the third week, that's THREE Fridays in a row with acoustic sets.

I'm also wondering what this might mean for the Wednesday Drive-In series. Until last week, Sirius was usually just replaying the Wednesday concerts on Fridays, right? Except for the LT25 & LS weeks.

So now I'm thinking next week's Drive-In concert will probably be a Dave & Tim show, possibly Radio City since that's airing on Sirius next Friday.

Just tell them you aren't satisfied/want to quit and they'll offer you better rates.

You don't spend much time on Ants do you?

Just call and say you're going to cancel. I dropped from like $15/mo to $5/mo. They automatically offer you a lower price if you say you want to cancel.

Only negative to the call is every time I've done it I've been put on hold for at least 15 min. Usually longer. It's part of their retention technique is to make you wait forever to cancel.

Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel

Am I happy it permanent yes, am I thrilled not necessarily, and anyone who says “ oh you’re just being negative” is clueless. I say this because when the channel is a special engagement, it’s been successful but bombed later. Why, because there’s not enough variety, they don’t play rarities or enough rarities, they played the same concerts over and over, the only really great thing about it was a Friday night concert series.

Hopefully now with them having their permanent channel this will change because they’re given a golden opportunity and it can be successful such as the phish channel. Though time will tell.

It will go one of two ways, they will invest resources into it and involve the band more often and have much more comprehensive content a la phish radio or basically ignore it and let an algorithm play songs the way it mostly does now. Most likely the latter is what will happen with some sprinkles of new deep cuts etc.

The difference in phish radio and the dead channel are the culture and people surrounding it along with the band getting more directly involved.. that and access to a ridiculously larger group of live shows.

Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel

I agree I hope it goes well but we will see. I hope the band gets it right. It’s a permanent channel now because of the fans over the years the fans demanded it be, so therefore give it every opportunity to succeed edit the very least would be a thank you to the fans.

Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel

Yeah the band could really be awesome and play 2-3 full shows a day like Pearl Jam does. Usually do a this day in PJ history show, like the GD does. Granted, PJ releases all their shows, but at this point, open up the damn vaults. What are you even waiting for?

Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel

They got enough DMBLive, LTs, Live At/In... released shows to make this interesting, plus miscellaneous released shows. I want to know if they're going to hire DJs, how many, and if they will consider hiring from a place like this. Normally, I'd be leery about hiring from a place like this, but it would be an olive branch to the fanbase. I'm excited about this, I can't believe this news has only been discussed as much as it has been here.

We at Grey Street Pod formally announce our campaign to be involved with this channel. This is exactly what we want to do, and know we'd be good at it.

How do we petition the band's decision makers on this to consider you? I'll pitch in my vote for you. The rest of this place probably will too. I think lots of Family members may actually vote for you too.

Haha thanks! I'm not sure. I wish I knew, and I'd contact them or whoever at SiriusXM as well

Yeah, working for SiriusXM would be cool, but not sure I'd want Ari as my boss.

Fink would be better (possibly more stable) than Lessard

On a completely unrelated idea, because sleep deprived me's first thought at seeing the name Ari was Entourage, how different would Ari Gold be if Entourage was in production today?
