The correct answer, of course, is 19! 19! 19! 19! 19! 19! 19! 19! 19!

I hope you're joking.

About what, Ovie or 19!19!19!19!19!19!19! ? Because I think both are pretty valid arguments at this point.

About Ovechkin?

No, I'm not. The guy is a really good player. But he's one dimensional. He's a killer on the powerplay with that deadly shot. But outside of the powerplay, if you contain him the right way, he's a non-factor.

Don't believe me? He's -23 for the season. -23.

Video review in a shoot out tonight at the Ducks game. Palmieri's shot was called a goal then was over turned via Toronto. Never seen that before.

More importantly. Did the ducks lose?

Yes. Yes they did

There's one huge reason for the Sabres to keep Ehrhoff. Cap recapture penalties would be $10mil if he gets traded and then retires before his contract ends (after the 2020-2021 season). He'll be 38 at the end of his contract; will he play that long, who knows, but it's a huge risk to move him, which is why Murray is said to have had a high price tag for him.

Saw it before...sorta. Wings vs Stars. Ott on the shootout, sliding towards the line looks like Howard got it. The official by the net said no goal. They went to video to make sure. Toronto said they said it was inconclusive that it crossed the line but the back official, standing at like the blue line thought it went in. So they called it a goal based on that.

Joking about what? I could name about 30 guys I'd rather start a franchise with than Ovie. Guy is the definition of overrated.

Really hope Lou retires on the very last day he has to massively screw the Canucks (financially).

There is a video of it out there. Wings/Stars and I think it was 2010...Maybe the back ref had the best angle but considering the close guy said no, and you couldn't tell, one way or another, on the video, I don't think it should have counted. Of course it decided the game too. lol

I'd take him back when the Wings had Yzerman, Shanny, Hull and especially Fedorov and Larionov. They could have taught him a thing or two. Datsyuk is the most down the earth, classiest Russian I've seen since Larionov, and who did he play with his first two years? All of those guys.

Burnside extremely critical of the Kings acquisition of Gaborik.

I should note that I typically can't stand Burnside, and this is no exception.

Just had to drop Datsyuk from my fantasy team...that sucked. Not worth keeping him when he won't be back until the last few weeks.

I also heard that Kings scouts weren't too impresssed with Gaborik near the deadline. He had one game where he completely mailed it in and had like no shots on goal.

I think the Kings had to make this deal because their offensive production is way down and they wanted to try and switch it up.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Like we've said before, Ovi COULD be the best player in the game if he wanted to. I think it's safe to say that no one in the league has more natural skill than he does. Simply electricifying every time he's on the ice. Unfortunately, he's content with making himself a one-trick pony. It should come as no surprise to him that he hasn't had the kind of success of his peers.

Toews is the polar opposite of Ovi. There is no better player in the NHL right now when it comes to how the game should be approached and played. NO. BETTER. PLAYER.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Gaborik just wasn't a good fit for the system here in in Columbus. They don't have the skill players to play alongside him.

His response to not fitting into the system was to just mail it in. Not sad to see him go but wouldn't be surprise if he plays much better more inspired hockey on the Kings. Just like that POS Carter.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

When Gaborik's on, he's an incredible talent. He pushes defenders back with his speed and agility, and has an incredible wrist shot. His fragility and lack of physicality makes him one-dimensional, but on a team starving for goals like the Kings, I think he could find a fit. Imagine a line where Dustin Brown is plowing the way and digging pucks out of corners to Kopitar, who feeds the trailing Gaborik? On paper, should and could be great. We'll see how it goes.

I will say this: It'll be interesting to see how it goes for Gaborik on a Darryl Sutter-coached team.

It's be interesting to see if Franzen scores 4 goals tonight against the Avs.

And couldn't find just the goals from the Avs series in 2008, 9 I think he had in 4 games, so here's all from 2008.

Like I said, the Wings could dress just him tonight and still probably win.

Those of you with the NHL Network should turn it on at 6:30. Gonna be a great time with the raising of #5 to the rafters.

I am very much looking forward to this. So fitting that it's against the Avs.

Tim are you coming down to columbus for either of the wings games in March? Sucks they are both Tuesday nights but I have at least 2 extras for both games.

+/- is a terrible stat when looking at an individual player. And I'll gladly take his league-leading 44 goals.

And name those 30 guys, Chris. I would love to see this list :lol:lol

I'm not typing out 30 names, but the usual suspects (Toews/Crosby/Datsyuk/etc.) to everyone from Parise to Pietrangelo to Jonathan Quick to Getzlaf I'd rather build a team around than Ovie.

I agree with you Chris, I wouldn't want Ovie on any team I ever rooted for. I'll Phaneuf to that list too, I don't know why but I can't stand that guy.

Aw man, I'd love to, but yeah the Tuesdays kinda ruin it. Amazing they haven't played since October, and then they play twice in two weeks. I dunno what goes into the schedule, but you'd think they would have tried for one Saturday night game since the Wings are such a draw there.
