Yeah his numbers are actually pretty good. I just remember Columbus Blue Jackets Steve Mason, which was awesome.

Yes the Hawks have won 2 cups, but to say no other team has even come close is just false. The Bruins have had a very similar success story from where they were. When I first moved to Boston I remember going to opening night against Calgary to a very empty arena. Now when I go back up to Boston I need to order tickets well in advance. On top of that, they were very close to being the team with two cups in 4 years.

Anyway, the Rangers have really started to turn towards the good finally! Hank is back to his old self I see.

The Bruins are the only team I can think of that can even rival what the Hawks have done, but it goes beyond just the 2 Cups (which, let's not forget, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. They may have been close to being that team with 2 Cups, but they aren't ;) ) It goes to a record setting point streak to start the season last year, etc. The Hawks are the model organization since the salary cap era began.

:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup Especially the last part. I know hockey pretty well, but I'm a fan. I might wonder why Babcock or Holland do what they do, but I have complete faith in them. Why? Duh. Yeah things don't always work out when they, or anyone, makes a move, either a coach in game or GM with a trade/signing. Also as fans we tend to get pretty emotional. We get too high and too low at times. I remember after the first loss to the Hawks in the playoffs, fans and media were freaking out. I'll never forget Babcock's presser the following day.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RV-rWykEgGM

And to any Hawks fans bitching right now, I will, at least in the short term, trade spots with you. My team hasn't had ONE game all year, where they everyone was in the lineup. Getting closer, but they were close a month or so ago too and then lose someone else.

Exactly. Nailed it Tim. These guys...Babcock, Q, etc...know what the hell is going on. They understand that a season is a long 82 games before the playoffs, and there are lots of ups and downs. Lots of mixing and matching, seeing what works and what doesn't. Maybe that includes double-shifting Kaner or Pavel, maybe it means trying Kruger on the 2nd line, or Pirri, or Handzus...it's a long season with lots of changes constantly happening. Take the finger off the panic button, people, and understand that sometimes you just gotta throw shit at the wall and hope it sticks. It's a crazy game.

I'm sorry if that came off the wrong way, man. Didn't mean for it to. I didn't mean to sound insensitive towards reporters or the job they do.

What I meant was, why is it our business to know why he lost faith in them? It's not. It's the same notion that people have a problem with "upper and lower body injury" designations. Why do some people feel it's their "right" as fans to know that it was his wrist, or his neck, or chest, etc? Why do we need to know why Q lost faith in that line? We don't. All we are responsible for is going to games and cheering them on. After that, everything else is just sprinkles on top of the sundae. Entitlement of fans is ridiculous.

Does that make sense?

I've been dying to see a Philly fan admit that trade sucked. Thank you.

You do realize Khabibulin is available after the end of this season, right?

Stupid Flyers, always missing out on the really good deals.

There are only rainbow sprinkles so I don't see the need for this clarification

Rangers have really come alive. Second in the division now (with more games played of course). Nash looks good, Richards looks good and Stepan finally got back on the score sheet. Also, Talbot continues to impress. Pretty happy with the NY Rangers right now!

Flyers back in 2nd. My friend posted on Facebook a week or so ago about how reminiscent this team is of the 08 Phillies. No deficit seems unsurmountable.

OMG what a missed call on goal to the Wings tonight. Puck went up in the air off a shot, hit the mesh way up, came down and hit Quick in the back and went in. All refs missed it hitting the net (apparently) and called it a goal.

Really sucks that these can not be reviewed.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Wow wow wow. Wings got beyond lucky. This same play happened against them 6 years ago that cost them a game. It's crap that it's not reviewable but it gets them a point.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Well, Fuck.

All I have to say is that play needs to be reviewable.

:lol yeah this was amazing. 8 guys ended up getting game misconducts on that opening face off. Apparently Torts tried to get into the Flames locker room during intermission. The wheels have completely come off :lol

I can't blame Torts for being pissed. Hartley wanted that. There was no reason for that. Lots of fines and suspensions coming for sure.

Here at 1:43 is where the same net bounce happened to the Wings. If after almost 6 years it's still not reviewable, I'm not sure it will happen.

Yeah sometimes these games have a tendency to start a bit slowly but not today. Exciting stuff so far.

Thanks to the Flames and Canucks for sending hockey back 10 years. So dumb.
