Anyone watch 24/7? Wings in FLA I love Babs saying to the ref about a goal waived off. "I know in the league we're trying to get more goals, not less."

Totally forgot 24/7 started. Hope it's on demand. I'll catch it there.

Old players get hurt more often than young players.

Huge win for the Rangers and they did it with a beautiful shoot out goal!! Stops the skid and gives the team some confidence!!

Pens defense for tomorrow nights game is gonna be crazy:

Niskanen (444 games)-Despres (60 games)
Maatta (34 games)-Bortuzzo (39 games)
Dumoulin (1 game)-Samuelsson (0 games)

Tons of injuries, but it is now the young guys time.

After a fart last night, the hottest team in the NHL comes into Chicago and leaves after the game was decided within the first 15 minutes. Beautiful game by the Hawks, and my goodness Jonathan Toews is a man

Well Franzen got punched in the face and they are worried about a concussion so not sure age has much to do with that one. I know you think guys who are over 30 are old but Justin Abdelkader, Darren Helm, Danny Dekeyser and Jimmy Howard are 4 of the other guys. None of them are 30. So maybe know what you are talking about before you use the "Detroit is old" argument.

Ducks are gonna throttle the Wings tomorrow probably. They are missing 5 of their top 9 forwards, their #3 dman and their #1 goalie. Soon the Griffins are gonna be in trouble with most of their players up on the big club.

Anything on Malkin? Someone said Detroit is killing their fantasy team, Malkin might have just killed mine.

So glad 24/7 is back. Nice little premier last night. Too bad they wouldn't let the cameras in on Dion's suspension call though.

Was thinking the same thing. I understand why not but still would have liked to see it.

I can already see the narrative for these episodes. Wings have a lot of injuries, Leafs are struggling.

Just saying, when guys like Z, Datsyuk, Franzen, Alfie miss time it shouldn't be surprising. Just like I don't expect a guy like Hossa to play 80 games anymore.

I know. I'd agree if it was mostly those guys but it's not. Alfie's groin early in the year, and Z's back worry me. He's had issues for a while. But Franzen and Pavel's were both dirty plays and the other guys are young. Abby's injury was a dirty play too. Most of these guys should be back by New Years Day. I'd hate to have a Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium and half the team are minor leaguers.

Watched 24/7 late last night. Loved it. Lupul and Carlyle are the early stars I think. Still can't wait for awkward Kessel and a hilarious Datsyuk.

Mike Babcock is one of my favorite people in the NHL. 24/7 is only reinforcing that.

Anyone else wondering what "illness" Doan has? He's been out for a while and is on medication. If it was the flu they would say it. I'm very curious. Especially since he was kicking ass and on my fantasy team.

Sure didn't look good. Going that fast and then all of a sudden your feet stop your momentum like that against the boards...ouch.

So the faculty in the dept I work gave me $$ as a Christmas gift. Almost enough to cover a winter classic jersey. So tempted to get it. I could use that money for many other things though so common sense is still winning out but it's very tempting.

HallowBillies7 12-16-2013 01:10 PM

Thornton has decided to appeal his suspension. Fight the power!

rickyh24 12-16-2013 01:13 PM

Hopefully it gets reduced to 10. 15 is a bit much.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

I don't think it will. They'll compare it to guys like McSorley and Bertuzzi. I don't think it's quite as bad as those guys but Bert got 23 games I think? Also someone I read today said the NHL will make the argument that it was premeditated and Orpik wasn't just unwilling he wasn't prepared for it when he came back in.

rickyh24 12-16-2013 01:18 PM

The knee to the head was premeditated too.

Not gonna argue there, and that one sucks, but I just don't see them reducing it.
