24-1-1 when leading in the 3rd....now 24-2-1. Fuck the Blues

Nice to finally win a defensive battle like that for a change. I'd ask if there is a bigger group of douchebags than the Blows but I think we all know the answer is Vancouver.

the best part of douche teams is whipping it out on the table for them to see, and then beating them.

Guess I was wrong:

Spector's Hockey @SpectorsHockey
ESPN's Pierre LeBrun recently reported NHL salary cap could go up to $68-$69 million. That's before new CBA goes into effect.

Not really. Cap will go up, but if a new CBA gets done by September, the cap will then go back down. So, when free agency opens, there may be one cap, but if the revenue share swings in the owner's favor somewhat, it will probably go back down before the season starts.

Bullshit no goal call on the Rangers tonight. This game should not be in overtime right now.

Annnd we will finish the game 22 seconds into OT. Boom.

You're right. The game shouldn't have been in overtime, but not because of the no goal. The Rangers should have won some defensive zone faceoffs.

Lolz.

Beautiful game winning goal though.

this:thumbsup. we'll probably see a bunch of teams have a self-imposed cap if this is the scenario.

Most disappointing team in the NHL this year?

It's gotta be Buffalo, right? I would have said Anaheim, but they're only 5 points out of playoff contention now.

Buffalo, even though they're only 7 points out. A lot of people thought they could win the cup.

Predators a little bit because they just play a good style against the Hawks, and they play it well. Caps are the Miami Heat of the NHL, Bryz doesn't have the playoff reputation right now, Rangers are a year away, Habs will be better than people think, Bruins will be tough, but I like the Pens more, Tampa wouldn't get through anyone at the top of the East.

in the west, Red Wings are old. I hate their Blue line, as in I don't think it's that good, plus their forwards will get hurt. Sharks are good, but their also the Sharks and as long as their Captain is Joe Thornton I don't care for them. Canucks. Kings are going to bother people, but I think they have no wingers, and they'll bug people.

Sharks
Canucks
Hawks
Wings
Kings
Preds
Ducks
Blues

Sharks over Blues
Canucks over Ducks
Hawks over Preds (scary)
Kings over Wings

Sharks over Kings
Hawks over Canucks (I didn't even mean to put them together, I hate playing them)

Hawks over Sharks

Pens
Caps
Bruins
Rangers
Lightning
Sabres
Flyers
Habs

Pens over Habs
Flyers over Caps
Bruins over Sabres
Rangers over Lightning

Pens over Flyers
Rangers over Bruins

Pens over Rangers

Pens vs Hawks.

Here's yours.

looks like I was off on the Habs, Rangers, and Wings. i might get all 8 playoff teams in the west though, just not in the right order

EDIT: I'm standing pat on my playoff predictions though, namely the cup

Hey been down for the count the last two days so figured I'd show up quickly. Thanks to the Hawks (was actually rooting for them) for beating the Blues. Now a 5 point lead. Great game against SJ yesterday. Playoff type game.

I think you guys have this division locked up, unless something great happens. I think we can catch STL and NSH though, but I'm not sure if I want to. What's better, STL or NSH in the first round or Vancouver?

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

St Louis could catch them but for Nashville or the Hawks to catch the Wings now they'd need a monumental collapse on the Wings part plus both of those teams winning like 90% of the rest of the games. And with 12 of the last 22 at home the ways things are going at the Joe I wouldn't count on that part. I really want the division cause that puts them at 1 or 2 which means home ice for the first two rounds. Don't want to be starting out in SJ or something in round 2. I don't care who they play cause they could lose to anyone and beat anyone. No way I thought the Flames would take them out in 04 or the Oilers in 06 so what happens, happens.

Is it April yet?

I'd rather play the Sharks, but that's just me :lol

Nashville I guess. STL is the one team I really want to avoid in the first round. It would be a blood bath.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you guys can put a pretty little bow on your division title and enjoy it. It's all yours.

Tomorrow should be fun though. :thumbsup

Rumors out there sound like Conklin is going to be sent down, well waived first I'm guessing. Too bad for him. He did so well his first stint here and his first game this year. But the way Joey Mac has played I can see why. Although I thought the Wings might have sent Joey back down to have him and Conklin on the roster for the playoffs.

edit: now sounds official.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

At least the Wings are willing to do what they need to do by sending him through waivers. The Hawks should have sent Lepisto through waivers a long time ago, but they refuse to do it. Not sure why.

Sharks are best match-up for Hawks. Not many teams are lacking the physical game as much as the Hawks...SJ is one of them, though.

But how about first just getting into the playoffs. Only 1 of the last 22 games is against a team (Jackets) that has no hope of making the playoffs.

Buffalo has been absolutely decimated by injuries this year. They had nine regulars out of the lineup at one point this season.

Biggest disappointment has to be Carolina, for me.

SJ or Van would be fine in terms of a first-round matchup. Would not want to see DET at all. STL is a scary team but they have a hard time scoring and if Hawks can play D like they did yesterday I think they'd be able to take them in 6.
