Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

It's been a while. Doesnt seem I missed much besides a Preds fan joining the conversation. Wings with a ridiculous home win streak. Hawks fans being Hawks fans. Pens being injured as usual.

Love the Winter Classic in the Big House. Genius idea.

Pens win 4 straight, lose 6, win three. Makes no sense. They will be alright once Letang gets back. Malkin may not even be 100% yet, but he is starting to look dominant. Lots of depth on the blueline. If the Pens can get rid of Martin it would be a good thing and it could happen because teams are going to be looking for a defender come the deadline.

Hawks got hosed. That's two nights in a row a game has had a clear-cut goal disallowed. Good job refs!

Lindy Ruff has to get fired soon? Right?

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

The Sabres look so uninspired and firing Ruff may be the thing to do. He's a good coach but they need a change.

Andrew Shaw got absolutely hosed. I keep waiting for Andrew Shaw and Jimmy Hayes to come down to earth as rookies but they keep playing so goddamn well. I am loving them

Would have been Kruger's goal....though Shaw would've had an assist.

Hayes - Bolland - Brunette has been a huge surprise. 15 was not looking very great for a large chunk of the season but on that line he is making plays and setting up shop behind the net.

Ruff is a career long loser. I can't stand him and his constant whining.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

Kruger would have had the goal, but Shaw is the one who got hosed. What a fucking play.

It is pretty dumb for sure

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

They need to broaden the review rule. Both the Sharks OT goal last night and the Hawks goal tonight were "not reviewable" due to what are really nothing more than technicalities. I understand the reasoning in both cases. Tonight was a "hand pass" which is not a reviewable call, but if they just wrote it so that all potential scoring plays are reviewable in their entirety, looking at the proverbial whole picture, both last night's and tonight's would have been good.

Nope. Bourque fought Hendricks a minute into the game. Bourque handled himself pretty well I'd say he won the fight.

So, can we have Derek Roy for free?

I'm sure you could have Erhoff or Leino for free blolololol.

The Bruins will take Tyler Myers and the Sabres can have Daniel Paille back.

Roy was pretty invisible tonight. I would take him but he didn't do anything at all in this game.

Toews was a beast again tonight. If he stays healthy and keeps it up, he will be the Hawks' first 40-goal scorer since Tony Amonte.

Hossa can probably do it too. Sharp probably would have done it if he stayed healthy.

I don't know how anyone ever thought so highly of Ehrhoff. There was a reason the Sharks let Vancouver have him. People on Sharks boards mostly called him Ehrror.

Hossa with only 18 goals and only 35 to play. Not likely to get 40. But he could put up 85-90 points. Amazing seasons for Toews and Hossa.

the dude was on the wrong end of 2 stanley cups after switching teams, and then was lucky enough to get a 3rd shot. Just because he got the Cup first doesn't mean it's the Bourque treatment. Mark Recchi didn't get the Bourque treatment.
