Any Caps fan acting like we already won the series is a moron and I want to punch them.

The caps have been executing that short side pass Ward scored on all season for goals.

Caps are really getting eaten alive here

I only remember the time Kuznetsov hit Johannson near the end of the season. Then he did it again in the Islanders series. Then Ovie did it in game 1. Can't think of any other time this season they've used that play.

Re: The NHL Thread

Obviously not a great first. Still not overly worried, Rags are throwing their best punch right now. Caps could still come back. And even if they lose today they are still in a good spot. Holtby looks very good.

So looks like I'm flying solo in here for this one? That's cool, prepare to read a whole page of my nonsense

Re: The NHL Thread

Much better start. Caps just need to keep tilting the ice a little bit each shift. Holtby's good to go back there. Though Hank's been on point as well. Caps just need to squeak one by King and they're right back in it.

Re: The NHL Thread

I just turned it on at work. Caps are struggling this afternoon. And Ovie, you don't need to be making hits like that.

^ Getting one by the King is easier said than done. But they almost did there.

Re: The NHL Thread

Hank with a really fantastic save on that Green shot. Caps turning it up now. Holtby's a beast.

Why not? It wasn't dirty. He kept his hands low and stayed on the ice.

I miss Brooks Orpik.

Looked a little knee-on-kneeish at first glance. But I'm only half-paying attention, so I could be wrong. :lol

Re: The NHL Thread

Good lord Lunqvuist is out of his mind right now. Caps are throwing some serious chances at him and he's been mega huge.

Dramageek 05-02-2015 01:57 PM

Re: The NHL Thread

How did he make that save?

Nah I didn't see a knee. Fast saw it in time mostly too and avoided the brunt of it.

The dude is a freak. Seriously elite level goaltending from him in this period. Caps are the much better team this period. It's all King right now.

Fair enough. :thumbsup Caps are picking it up. But gotta score, preferably one goal this period.

There ya go. Game on.

Re: The NHL Thread

There it is!! Kuzy!

We are finally seeing the emergence of Evgeny Kuznetsov as an offensive force in this league. Dude's confident as hell right now and this is his highest level by far since he's been in Washington.

Re: The NHL Thread

Lunqdvist again. Wow.

I must say I do like the MSG organist playing the Game of Thrones theme. :lol

Re: The NHL Thread

Caps got caught sleeping a little bit there at the end. Holtby's been huge for them.

Looks like a close game from the Box score! Hope I update my phone to another Rangers goal in the third. I worry that they are sitting on the lead again.

Get it done Rangers!!

Good goaltending all around that period.

:thumbsup I just texted a buddy and said "these goalies are insane". Really good goaltending both ways.

Re: The NHL Thread

Best power play in the league needs a goal badly here

barbogast 05-02-2015 02:42 PM

Re: The NHL Thread

Dammit. That's probably the game.

Dramageek 05-02-2015 02:45 PM

Re: The NHL Thread

That's a back breaker.

Re: The NHL Thread

Caps have showed really well though after the Rangers came out swinging. A split isn't anything to be angry about. If the Caps play like this again they can win game 3. This looks like it's going to be a very good series.

barbogast 05-02-2015 02:53 PM

Re: The NHL Thread

Holy Alex Ovechkin. Wait till you guys see that goal.
