Re: The NHL Thread
I don't agree the McDavid goal should've counted. The first angle I saw from in front of the goal, yeah it's really really close. Every other angle you can't see anything because of Quick's glove. And the puck probably was over the line, but we've all seen that play before 100 times. It normally doesn't count. IMO, refs got it right.

Re: The NHL Thread
Not to bring ya down but Mirtle pointed out that going 46-26-1 the rest of the way would only get the Jackets to 95 points. That doesn't guarantee them in. For how long a season is, a couple bad weeks can break you.

Re: The NHL Thread
Just want to say what an awesome save/no save that Quick made was. All that is being talked about is the controversial call but that was an amazing stop no less. I was extremely worried about Quick earlier in the year but obviously it was just rust and he is looking like a well oiled machine again.

A Toews-er in OT. Watched most of 3rd and OT of that game. Fun one for being scoreless.

Re: The NHL Thread
Toews with his 2nd straight OT winner.
3-on-3 is so fun. We'll think it's a gimmick in 2-3 years, but for now...WHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! |

Speaking of Twitter, Adrian Dater was having some fun last night talking about players who spent a long time and are well known for playing on one team, but then spent a bit of random time on another. I thought it would be a worthy endeavor for the members of the NHL Thread as well.
A couple more recent ones I was thinking of: Brodeur on the Blues Modano on the Red Wings Lindros on the Stars What else do you guys got? |

Jagr on the Pens then everywhere else for a year

The biggest travesty of that whole franchise is that Terry Hall (Jesse's brother) didn't stay with the team. The Oreo Line could've gone on to be one of the greats.

Forsberg is a good one for well all 3 of those teams in a short window. You know him as an Avs player but to go from Philly to Nashville to the Avs and then get hurt...yeah. Still wonder to this day what the Wings offered to Philly to try and get him back in 07. Thank god that didn't happen.

Nice guy I guess. And getting some kind of prestigious lecturer title this week and my wife gets to go the ceremony/reception. Doesn't change that the movie sucked.
So in actual hockey news, Mrazek getting the start tonight when Howard was slated to. Not that Howard has struggled but gotta go with the slightly hotter hand. |
