I don't agree the McDavid goal should've counted. The first angle I saw from in front of the goal, yeah it's really really close. Every other angle you can't see anything because of Quick's glove. And the puck probably was over the line, but we've all seen that play before 100 times. It normally doesn't count. IMO, refs got it right.

Agree. Was it in? Very probable. Could you see it? No. I know I'd be pissed if it happened to the Wings but yeah we've seen this a bunch of times before called no goal. The refs got it right based on the rules and the video.

Not to bring ya down but Mirtle pointed out that going 46-26-1 the rest of the way would only get the Jackets to 95 points. That doesn't guarantee them in. For how long a season is, a couple bad weeks can break you.

doesn't guarantee them in but it will at least make the rest of the season exciting. I just want them to be competitive at this point. I love watching the NHL I just want them to be playing meaningful games into the spring.

Just want to say what an awesome save/no save that Quick made was. All that is being talked about is the controversial call but that was an amazing stop no less. I was extremely worried about Quick earlier in the year but obviously it was just rust and he is looking like a well oiled machine again.

I think it's terrible now, but anything to reduce shootouts is ok in my book.

Big Buff said "It's not hockey." One, probably cause he's a sloth on the ice. Two, it's more hockey than shootouts are. I do think in 2-3 years it'll wear off and not sure what happens then but making shootouts have less of an impact is important.

Also...20 (yes 20) years ago was the debut of the Russian Five:

A couple more recent ones I was thinking of:
Brodeur on the Blues
Modano on the Red Wings
Lindros on the Stars

Shanny wasn't with them cause he was traded for Chris Pronger. Blues still kinda screwed that up cause it all pointed to Wayne staying there but ended up going to NYR. Thankfully for my team though cause the Blues were the Wings little whipping boy from 96-2002 in the playoffs.
