Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

This seems soo shocking and hard for everyone to absorb. Roi was only 2 years older than me and amazingly my Mother called me to tell me the horrible news of Roi's passing. I had just been on the boards hours before and knew the setlist would be late (I'm in CT) so I hadn't known. This is the first time she has ever told me something I hadn't already known about the band. Even though it was tough with the board traffic last night, I still felt the NEED to keep trying to get through and refreshing the page to see how others were feeling. My husband & daughter were in bed hours before I could pull myself away from the computer.

It was an awful night and now we are faced with this hole in our lives. Every one of my 50 shows with this band has been incredible and now more precious. I'm glad that my husband & I were in the front for Htfd nite 2, so we were close to the full band for one last time.

Kudos to the band for getting through last night's show...........as hard as it is for us to believe that they were able to play, they seem to be happiest on stage and it was a moving tribute to their brother to honor him in the best way they know how.

We all feel like we have lost a family member because we all share the same passion for DMB. It's nice that we have the comfort of this community to express our grief. My other friends and family would not understand as I know all of you do.

Such a TRAGIC waste of a beautiful man with incredible talent! I would have bawled through that whole show last night. Just reading some of these posts (now that I can get on the board) has brought tears to my eyes.

We all loved you ROI! Your presence will be sorely missed and you wiil never be replaced!

It makes me feel helpless to feel this loss and go on with my regular day.........the band feels like a part of me.

My love and prayers are with the DMB community!

I haven't posted in a long time, but seeing this news this morning is just awful. First I lose Skip Caray, the voice of my Atlanta Braves, and now Roi, one of the members of my absolute favorite band that has meant so much to me. I am in complete shock here at work. I honestly never even thought it would come to this. After being released, readmitted, and released again, it just seemed like things were getting better. I am absolutely stunned. RIP Roi. We all love you and the band will never ever be the same.

I just want to extend my deepest condolences to LeRois family. My thoughts also go out to all of his companions: Dave, Carter, Boyd and Stefan. His unexpected passing comes as a huge blow not only to fans of DMB, but also to music. He was probably the most gifted musician i ever saw play, and for that i feel truly grateful.

If you want to download this torrent, this Simpsons episode is probably a nice little tribute to Roi. Bleading Gums Murphy always reminded me of him.

EDIT: Maybe not; it looks like there arn't any seeders. Anyways, its a great episode called 'Round Springfield from season 6.

This is just really sad. I'm in shock right now and my prayers go out to his family.

I'm going to go listen to #34 right now. I don't think any other song captures LeRoi as well as that one.

I was doing okay until I got in my car and Bartender came on. I'm going to be worthless today after hearing that.

Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

I'm a relatively new diehard fan (last summer was my first show), but I'm still crushed by Le Roi's death . . .

Dreaming Tree and the Stone are my favorite songs - they approach a level of art that I don't think any other band I've encountered has ever achieved. I don't know if either song can stand without Le Roi . . . he could really effect emotion with his playing, and it may be selfish to say I'll miss hearing him play when you think about what his family and the band must be going through, but on some level I feel that all of us are family.

It's a sad, sad day.

terrible...I switch on the TV and see 3 seconds on this. I can't imagine how the band and the rest of his friends and family are feeling right now. Rest easy, friend. Music can not ever be the same without you.

It sounds wierd, but I guess I know how it feels to lose a close family member now. My stomach hurts and I know that I'll never be able to experience the truly amazing experience a DMB show has always been for me the same again. My prayers obviously go to his family and the band. This hurts more than it should - I guess that's what makes them better than everybody else; their ability to touch your lives!

Rest In Peace Leroi.

You've left us too soon.

I shed some tears for him last night, and really feel like shedding a few more after reading what some other members have said about him.

And my thoughts and prayers are with your family, and of course, Dave Matthews Band.

I was thinking the same thing this morning - I guess it didn't really hit me last night, but right now I am having a hard time not crying while I am at work. The last time I felt like this was when Jerry Garcia died.... Heartbreaking for all who were touched by LeRoi.

Awakened this morning by the saddest news.
Now what?
I feel numb.
I feel sorry for his family, the band, and us as a community of fans who truly adore DMB.
The feeling of losing one proves this.

RIP Roi. You won't be forgotten.

Im DJing this morning until 10 at the college radio station at MSU. Im going to play something and dedicate it to Roi, but what song should I play?

We've got Remember 2 Things, UTTAD, Crash, BTCS, Everyday, and Busted Stuff. Nothing live. I was thinking LIOG, Bartender, or You Never Know?
