Roi's intro on Seek Up on LT 3 might be the greatest piece of music ever performed.

Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

I couldn't think of anyplace to post this, but this seemed appropriate.. This morning, I was listening to a jazz radio station and i caught myself humming along to a familiar sax line. When I tried to place where I'd heard it, it hit me that it was a filler Roi played at the end of Lover Lay Down at Red Rocks in '05 (possibly some other venues too). He teased "santa clause is coming to town" not long before playing this riff, so I can only imagine how many other little teases he included over the years that no one really knows about. I'm sure with Carter's background and familiarity in Jazz, he really dug Roi's improv's. In case anyone was wondering, the jazz song I'm referring to is called Helen's song. If you skip to the :25 mark, you might recognize it.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-QyWD7l0UA

Was watching The Road to Big Whiskey on youtube today. Love the part where Dave and Carter are jamming to Roi's work over Seven. That song could have been so good if he was around to jam on it.

Still here dancing :leroi

Listening to some old stuff. The dude was badass. Period. Some people play the sax, Leroi spoke through it.

Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

i havent been to ants.org in years but i was listening to a Seek Up that i saw in 2005, and came over here to post. Roi was one of the main reasons i fell in love with DMB's music so long ago. His playing and Dave's writing defined what i loved about their music. Not that everyone else isnt great, because they are and i love them as well, but Roi and Dave is what i kept going back for. I was stunned when he died in 2008 and in a way still am. I have been unable to bring myself to go see them since his passing and for now, at least, it will remain that way. I wish nothing but the best for the rest of the band but he was a loss that im unable to get over, and to me DMB died that day with him. I truly miss you Roi and know that you are somewhere looking down over all of us, serenading our souls with your beautiful playing. Roi and the rest of DMB will always hold a dear place in my heart and i will always cherish the memories i have of the times i was lucky enough to see them and experience their shows. They had a profound impact on the person i am today and for that i am forever grateful. RIP Roi.

With the band playing the way it currently is, I can't help but still feel the hole left on the stage. Miss ya old friend.

Wish I could've seen a show with Roi. It's just not the same without him up on the stage...

I was at that show in Bristol and Im going tonight. Ive tweeted BT and Fonz about it hoping they realize. Id love to hear a Why I Am opener. Might not be the best opener but it would be the classiest.

That #34 tease must have been a nod to Roi for his last show.
