Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

I was just listening to the last show I ever saw him play, Chula Vista in 07, and wishing I had known then that it was the last time I was going to see him play. You never know when you're going to lose something until it's gone. I miss you LeRoi.

Leroi Moore made the sound of the band. It took me almost five years to gain light on the subject. Holloway....Awesome

I've never posted in this thread, and I thought on the heels of my first trip back to the last place I saw you play was the right time to do it. Your music touched me in a way most other musician's music cannot, and I miss the beautiful sound you brought to this band. I'm sure your brothers will do you proud tonight. One love, and thanks for all the memories. :leroi

I was at the Busch Stadium show on 6/7/08. We were lucky we made it there with all the flooding we got that day. We were in the second row with Leroi right in front of us. Those were the best tickets I've ever had, and had no idea at the time that it would be the last time I'd see him play.

4 years ago tonight I went to my 3rd DMB show. Even though I've added 21 more shows in the years since, I'll never forget that night in Virginia. How I wish we would've known, Leroi. But I'm glad I was there. I'm glad I got to see you a few times. I still can't listen to #41 without getting a little sappy. You live on in your music forever :leroi

recently I was walking down the street in NYC and I heard someone playing a sax. As hard as I looked, I couldn't find where it was coming from, so I jsut smiled and thought "Roi is nailing it up there." can't wait to meet you buddy.

Thank you for this. LIOG is my favorite song, but I haven't listened to the RR version in a while. Almost forgot how good Roi's solo is in that one.

Gonna listen to it now.

Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

i was at my cousins house in laredo, tx...we were smoking out and listening to dmb through the outside speakers...he received a text from his sister, also my cousin, the news of his departure

i was in the middle of taking a hit...ill never forget the emotion i felt when i exhaled...

i cry to this day.

i like to believe he knows what i know now that he finished the race...

he's probably making gruxish riffs where he is, waited for the rest of the band to finish their races...so they all play together...in perfection once again.

I've been doing a little listening to Listener Supported, the past few days. Roi is killing it throughout the show.

andrewsimsy 07-27-2012 06:23 PM

Yep, listener supported is awesome and he plays like an angel all the way through it. Beautiful. The last 4 mins of #41 is just perfection.

None of you know me...and it might be better that way, who knows. I didnt listen to anythibg to make me remember ROI tonight but it was some odd moment. Red rocks live 95 came in my head....lover lay down for sone reason. His solo that night, nevermind that I can sing it note for note like all of you, bu it hit me. Hit ke hard (could be the sam adams) but i shed a tear. Yep, 34 year old guy sitting hear listening to a song in his head and shed a tear. For ROI. Miss him so much. Forever dancin.
