Mason works well in Philly because he can handle the media, the fans, and is willing to take responsibility when he fucks up. For instance, when they lost in Nashville the other night in a shootout, Mason pinned the loss on himself despite the fact that the first few Philly shooters didn't score, and also the fact that Mason made several key saves in the third period.

Goalies are always screw looses, but for the Flyers--considering their disaster with Bryz, need someone who is just as solid in the locker room as on the ice.

Mason gives them that luxury.

he does appear to be a good fit for the team. They just have to hope he doesn't suffer the fate of previous Philly goaltenders and have 1 to 2 good seasons followed by a fallout.

Consequently... Can't stand watching the Caps continue to go down in flames. Get Erat out of there! Time for Grubauer to head back to Hershey. They are just a team out of sync. Nice to see Green actually playing some good two way hockey, though.
