HOWEVER (before you get too riled up Bonz :D), he's got some killer assets. For one, he's not only one of the best skating d-men in the league, he's one of the best OVERALL. Watching him glide around the ice - he makes it seem effortless. I don't compare too many people to Bobby Orr (because no one compares), but in terms of skating ability, Campbell reminds me a lot of #4. In addition, Campbell has great vision and understands the importance of making a good outlet pass. Although I have seen him get intimidated and rush a breakout pass, I have also seen him make some doozies. He's fantastic in the neutral zone and has an ability to stay patient and keep his head on a swivel. All in all, he's the type of guy you want on your team. Pair him with a more physical, stay-at-home type guy, and you've got a great top pairing. Also, he's got a great salad. Quote:

I wish they would stop triple teaming Toews. We'd be so good then.

I can't stop laughing at the "It's hard to see Carter, Ruutu or Nash not wearing a Caps uni by the time March rolls around" line :lol

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
if OMGCG wasn't triple teamed so much he would probably be a top 200 player

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Excuse me, but I think some of the wonderful people ranked Giroux as not in the Top 250. Get it right, people.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
I need to refresh this because it was such a cyclone of hilarity but who said Giroux was a not a top 200 (or 250) player in the NHL?

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
I suppose I just don't see the greatness of Brian Campbell. To me, he's one of the softest d-men in the league and I don't think he would do anything to help the awful play inside our own zone. To me, Montador/SOD are just as good inside their own blue line and Nick Leddy is nearly as good a skater (though admittedly not the passer that Campbell is). The Hawks don't need another offensive d-man. They need the players to come together and play team defense as a unit. In their own end, things usually unravel well before there's any chance for any outlet pass.
Just my opinion, though. Quote:

I'll never forget the hilarity. It was so funny reading that. Now he's a top 5 player in less than a year.
And OMGCG is my favorite thing in this forum haha. |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Peverley out at least the next 5 games after taking a knee on knee hit from Gill last night. With all these injuries that are happening to the Bruins right now it really makes ne think about how much went right for them to win the cup last year.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Well I can name two: the Flyers and Luongo.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Bucci's latest vlogumn:
http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=757...goryid=2459791 I was surprised at his higher picks, but Bucci has already proven to have one of the better hockey minds in the major media outlets, so I'll take it for what it's worth. |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
When is the deadline this year? I would love for the Flyers to make a splash like Gill or Kubina but it depends on how they do this week. Everyone is jumping off the ship after this past weekend.

He has a NTC that requires him to provide 5 teams to the Lightning. Hope Chi is one of them.
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Bruins beat reporter just tweeted that the lightning asked him to waive his NTC. Bruins are said to be very interested.

The Bruins are one of the 5 teams Nash put on his list. I really hope they don't deal for him. I want no part of that contract and they'll have to give up a ton to get him on top of that.
