Couts is pretty underrated because his offensive prowess was pretty bad until this year. Definitely has the ability to be a Selke candidate year in and year out. Also, I feel like Backstrom is pretty well liked and regarded in this thread

Spoke a little too soon there, my friend (at .500 now).

They still have a lot of growing to do - and they're still not quite to playoff caliber - but still a lot of reasons to be excited as an Avs fan. Like you, I'm just happy to see progress and what appears to be a plan in place.

Wow, Chicago just got whooped last night, that effort was pathetic. Washington capitalized on every missed pass or loose puck and created havoc. Hawks have been in a string of playing a lot of good teams and generally at least put up a good fight so I was expecting a decent effort last night but it was not there and everything they really threw at Holtby was literally right at him so not much chance for rebound opportunities. That top line of the Caps just pain broke their backs in the first period sending Foreberg to the showers early. Hawks PP also looked abysmal as well. Something is going to have to change in our forewords and given the show they put on last night I do not think those new line combo's are the answer. They just got hit by a train and looked like a pee wee team playing at times. Congrats Barbs and Brohan.
