Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Justin Williams, two years, $9 million in Carolina :lol:lol
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Kings better do more than Cammalleri :lol
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Dan Girardi to the Lightning aka "Rangers south"
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Ugh just saw about Williams. Knew it was coming. Still sucks.
This team sure did blow a golden opportunity. |
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Still can't believe teams want Ryan Miller
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Shats to NYR. Didn't seem like that would happen. Still waiting on Thornton and Marleau. Kulikov is the biggest shocker. He was awful last year. Not saying he can't rebound but 3 years at that cap hit?
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Swing and a miss Blake, swing and a miss.
NYR made out well. |
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Shatty took a huge home town discount apparently! Awesome!!
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Nooooooo
Just saw about Alzner. And his comments to the media. Just go ahead and drive a knife through my heart, Karl |
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
The more I think about it, the more I don't like what Alzner said yesterday to the media. What a kick in the sack to the fans. Fuck you, Karl. Enjoy being slow as fuck on a team that also likes to underachieve.

Never Forget from 3 years ago, Giroux arrested for grabbing butts http//www.nj.com/flyers/index.ssf/2014/07/flyers_captain_claude_giroux_spends_night_in_jail_ after_grabbing_cops_butt.html

Look, I get being frustrated with losing. It's perfectly fine to feel that way. But as a member of the team and therefore part of the actual reason for said losses, I just don't feel it's merited to publicly discuss how it sucked losing so much that it made you not want to stay there anymore. That's kind of a big middle finger at us, without taking much responsibility for what's transpired. Now, I also understand it's about way more than just Karl's poor play (which this year, it was poor, but in the past, it really hasn't been). Regardless, he's still a participating member of said loser. The fans, however, are not. Karl Alzner got his paycheck after the Caps got bounced again. Just like he did every other time they got bounced. Exactly 0 fans got reimbursed for their money/time/energy. Not that fans should, that isn't what I'm saying. Basically, for me, I have no issue with Alzner wanting out after constantly getting bounced in DC. I have a lot of an issue with him saying so publicly, citing that as the reason specifically. The public thing to do is say that the two sides couldn't make it work and it was time to move on. Thanks to everyone for my time there, blah blah blah. He shouldn't be saying "yeah, man, that place is a fucking loser, and I had to get out. They just can't win there." Again, fuck you, Karl. |
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
I am ok with the pens moves yesterday, as well as not signing back guys. Lot of those deals will be bad in a year or 2. Gmjr just needs to find his 3c, which it sounds like he is going the trade route for.
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Agree about Alzner, pretty poor attitude to have and bad form to say that about the team after leaving. Neal did something similar last year after hearing about the pens losing a game to philly. Made it extra sweet to see him lose to the pens in the final.

Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Alzner is a twit.
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Price getting paid.

Can't be upset with Kunitz leaving. But it will be weird to see him in another jersey. He was absolutely a core member of the 3 cups. He's a penguin legend IMO, not at the top obviously but not too far down the list either.
Penguins locker room is gonna be very different. |
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
I'm confused. Marleau a Leaf? Just doesn't sound right.
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Wow Marleau got paid
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Marleau got paid and he is over 35 so can't be bought out and he got a no trade clause. Nuts.
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Never forget

Fucking dumpster fire. |
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Marleau had 46 points in 82 games last year :lol:lol
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Kuznetsov getting paid too. Another 8 year deal for over 7 mill
If i am gmjr, i am making a call to pick up bozak from tor. They're either close to the cap or over now, and bozak had great chemistry with kessel |

Caps trade Marcus Johansson to the Devils for a 2nd and a 3rd.
Terrible. Also, that's a lot of money for Kuznetsov. He now makes more than Holtby and Backstrom. What a disappointing off season. |
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
7.8 for a 20 goal scorer. Man. Prices are insane
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
Malkin's deal was signed under the current CBA. Malkin on his UFA contract will make $1.7m per season more than Kuznetsov on his RFA deal.
|
Re: The NHL Thread (Penns are garage league champs)
The reported McDavid salary is driving up other RFA deals. Bridge deals are a thing of the past. I hope Larkin has a shit year. lol
