Series is playing out a lot like last years ECF did.

Murray now has as many playoff wins this year, as MAF has had the last 3 years combined. Glad he played in game 5 though.

For me it's 50% the Pens beat the Wings in 09 and 50% I'd like to see a team who hasn't won or hasn't won in a while win it.

Since 1982, a team has been up 3-2 in Conf Final 35 times. They've gone on to lose in Game 7 just 7 times, per @TSNResearch. #tblightning

Interesting stat. Glad the Wings were one of the 7 teams that were down 3-2 to come back and win.

Time to make it 8! The Pens themselves were victims in 1996, blowing a 3-2 lead to the rat-throwing Florida Panthers.

that stat doesn't tell you how poorly the Pens played in front of MAF the last 3 years

MAF was their best player in the playoffs of 14 & 15

Agreed. Hell, if not for MAF, the Pens may have lost to the Blue Jackets in 14. :lol

Oh I know, just going back to my I dunno why you would pull Murray in the middle of a series. Going back 2012 he was so so bad in 12 and 13. The MAF stat is a show of how underachieving this Pens team has been overall.

Well, he did help the Jackets tie the series in game 4 with the tying goal. lol

It has been a seriously shitty past week for me personally, so it was a great glimmer of hope to be able to sit down last night and watch a Pens game, that while exciting, wasn't so unnerving as to induce a heart attack.

What do we think about the West tonight? I think the Blues take it to 7.

The Sharks do suck at home compared to on the road but I think they close it out tonight. I dunno why I think that, just do.

Sharks have looked great this year, but also have a history to contend with. Though I think this is the year they get over it and make it to the Final. Will it be tonight? I don't know. Quite possibly.

Pens came out and put on the performance they needed last night. That Crosby goal was bananas.

Feeling good about tomorrow night. Fingers crossed.

I certainly would not be against them closing it out tonight.

Absolutely, they came out with their A game last night and forced a game 7. Still hope they get clobbered tomorrow though. :lol

:lol link isn't broken. You guys have subpar computers, not my fault

Fyi it's little construction figures of a Caps player, Flyers player and Penns player. There's a goalie dude for each team too. I thought they were cool as fuck when I saw them

Re: The NHL Thread

ESPN reporting that Stamkos is likely going to stop taking blood thinners today so he can suit up tomorrow. I imagine he is on plavix or kumadin so it would take 24 hours to get out of his system so conceivably he could suit up and see some ice time tomorrow. Can you imagine what an emotional boost that would be for the lightening if he was in the lineup? Hell, if he scored say a late game winning PP goal TB probably gives him the keys to the city and makes a holiday for the dude!

Yeah, I know from firsthand experience that it is not a great idea medically in the long term but Stamkos is a gamer so I could see him doing it and getting a decent amount of ice time.

No, it is definitely a busted ass link. I got some random red screen with paintings of dogs and cats with the following message.

That one worked. Nice photo, to be completely honest I didn't even think they still made those things anymore. I thought playmobil had gone away from sports to better compete with Barbie and GI Joe! :lol

Still not sure how great of an idea this is. Not only from a health standpoint, but from a preparedness standpoint. The returns of both Stralman and Fleury showed that the first game back can be a bit rough. Sure he looked great in practice. So did Fleury and Stralman. Sure he may score a GWG, but he also may cough up a costly turnover. It'd boost the team emotionally, but that will only carry them so far. They have been playing well without him.

They've been trying to get him off them the last week or so, or to find an alternative that he'd be able to play with while taking the medicine. Blood clots/thinners aren't really something to mess around with though, I'd love to have him back for game 7 so long as they aren't pushing any limits. It seems like they've been pretty cautious with everything though so if he does play I'd expect it to mean he's good to go. Either way I'm expecting the team to show up and play much better than they did the first 40 minutes of last nights game.
