Sure helps that Carter and Richards have been down 0-3 before. I am sure they are helping that locker room out. Also, how great would it be if the Sharks falter again in the post season, this time while up 3 games to none

I went to switch from watching on my phone to computer and I miss the damn winning goal

Wow, great playoff experience for this young team just from the first round. They really know how to battle back. I'm impressed by the Avs.

They play with a lot of confidence. Roy has them believing they can win any game.

Still some work to do, but nice bounce back game after that stinker game 4.

I agree. I don't see them coming back from that.

Now we need to show some road muscle and take one in Minny.

I have been impressed with Darcy Kuemper. Should be a nice 1-2 goalie rotation for the Wild next year when Harding is healthy

Agreed. Also, Haula, Coyle, and Granlund have had an incredible series. Lots of positives for Minny to look forward to in their future.

I don't think this series is over until game 7. This series and the Chi/StL have been great from a non-fan of those teams view point. Now if I were a fan of one of those teams I would probably be going crazy

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

I wouldn't be surprised. Honestly, it concerns me that the Avs seem to rely so much on the last change to beat these guys.

JRS1386 04-26-2014 09:54 PM

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Its new for most of them, Roy included. I think they will play more smoothly in further rounds (if they get there) and in years to come. Solid base the Avs have and they are a smart franchise so I see them sustaining this success for the foreseeable future

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

I'm glad you feel that way, thanks. :thumbsup

I've mentioned before that the one thing the Avs are missing are some battle scars. Experience. There is some necessary adversity they still have to face.

But yes, the most encouraging thing is the solid foundation they've built. Varly, EJ, Barrie, Duchene, Gabe, MacKinnon, O'Reilly... Really smart team building.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

I don't see them getting past the second round, but I also didn't figure they'd go from 29th in the league to winning a strong, new division in one year, so what do I know?

If we beat Minnesota, I'd rather see Chicago since we kinda had their number in the regular season.

Pretty annoyed with the sharks. Up 3-0 and then lose the next 2 and lose bad. I just hope they can recover although knowing them, they'll collapse even more and go down in the next 2 as well

You should be used to this by now.

The Hawks under Coach Q are 16-3 in elimination games. I'll go with the house on this one.

Why I hate social media drives me nuts? You see how dumb other fans really are. Datsyuk tweeted thanks for the support and it was tough season. He shared it on instagram and one douche said trade Howard. Yeah....his fault for the injuries and only 6 goals in 5 games.

No problem. With about 5 mins left in the 3rd I was already starting to think up snarky responses to the inevitable jeers I was going to get here. :lol. I was so grumpy I didn't even cheer when PA scored, just harrumphed and said "about damn time!"

Butt hurt fans looking for someone to hang. There were some mistakes made by Wings players here and there, but there were also plenty by Bruins too. Boston was simply a better team. Detroit fans should be incredibly proud of what their team was able to accomplish this year. Not just in the standings, but in the confidence and experience levels of some of the kids on the roster.

I know I should be burned at the stake for this, but I was unabashedly cheering for the Wings yesterday.

:lol. Gotcha. I was like, "man Russo must really be butt hurt if he's posting missed calls from January!"
I wasn't even aware people were debating it. From the image you just posted, Stastny's other foot seems to be on the blue line still.

I was more interested in why they didn't call Benoit for a penalty shortly before the goal.

So much yard work to do today, and it's super nice out. Really hope I'm done in time for Chi/Stl though...

Typical Flyers deciding when they want to play the game.
