Saw the nuge at Starbucks this afternoon. Thought about saying hi but couldn't think of a non-lame way to start a conversation

Not sure who all knows in here but my lady friend was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the middle of November and since then we obviously haven't gone to games. She just had brain surgery on December 10th. So, this is her first game since then, still can't believe she is going to a game so soon! But, then again, she was home two days after the surgery. Doubt we will stay the whole game but we are both excited to get back to our regular lives of attending hockey games!

Wow, all the best from the north, hope she's doing as well as can be.

A good one is to just comment on the latest game. Or at this point just "hey Nuge, happy holidays." Hockey players are so easy to talk to.

Also, I'm actually going to watch your Kings on the 30th at the UC against the Hawks. Only my 2nd game this year.

Wow totally didn't see this. I'm so sorry. Glad she, well both of you, are able to get out, even if it's for a little bit. Thinking of you.

Just got off the phone with St. Augustine Prep's ice hockey coach (prep HS in South Jersey) because I'm doing a story on them. We were talking about some of the kids on his team and he mentioned a couple of Briere's... Yup, I knew Danny's kids stayed in the area and completely forgot they go to the Prep :lol:lol

Geeez thanks guys, took you long enough! Just kidding, really thanks. The game was fun, we stayed for two period so we didn't see them get totally shit on!

Hope everyone had a good Christmas! I'm ready for some hockey!

Chris enjoy the Kings game...I mean, Blackhawks.

What town is that in, I've never heard of it. Hockey in SJ is starting to get big.

Richland, which is a part of Buena Vista. And you're right, it really is. We have a few area high schools with teams and I want to do a feature on all of them throughout the season. I'm pretty much the hockey writer at my paper and I'm gonna go out of my way to gather these stories to establish that. Other writers have their niches and I found mine

Zetterberg and Abdelkader are back tomorrow. Helm and Franzen not yet. Howard back Monday and Ericsson it'll be a while. Getting there I guess.
