Yes I want to be clear I love Pat & Eddie.

I can't believe there are people who complain about Olczyk when his fill-in (Konroyd) is incredibly boring, and is just about the opposite of "insightful."

Konroyd is about as exciting as a white piece of paper.

Pat and Eddie have laughed at the same stupid jokes they make for 4 years straight, every time like they've never heard each other say "tree turdy tree" before. It got old a while ago for me.

God forbid they have fun in the booth. They've been laughing at that shit since 2006. I still enjoy it.

Foley and Tallon were the best, but Eddie is a close second.

Watching tonight's game. 2nd period, Edzo is reading off a promo with a website address then says "I finally found the forward slash on my keyboard." Foley: "I'm proud of you partner." :lol :lol

:lol Exactly!

How can you not love those two? They're a ton of fun together.

I'm glad we found something we can agree on.

bonzo48280 11-14-2013 07:32 PM

Whatever. I don't think they're funny. At all.

I like Pat Foley with Konroyd and I like Eddie O with Doc. I cannot stand them together.

Very bizarre. Not sure how Hawks are going to deal with the cap but I am happy we have another guy to play in top-9 with some legit skill. Also: nostalgia!

Yeh Avs got worked. Of course Matt Duchene still managed to score a NASTY goal in the loss. Dude is incredible.

bonzo48280 11-14-2013 08:47 PM

Florida is retaining half the salary omg this is insane

Well...tonight is the best thing ever.

bonzo48280 11-14-2013 08:53 PM

GET ANDREW LADD NOW. please

bonzo48280 11-14-2013 08:55 PM

@bradyfan590: IF we give the Hawks the benefit of hindsight, have they now won TWO trades involving the same player (Versteeg)? When does that happen?

For Bollig and Handzus.

And the Jets retain 3/4ths of his salary.

To be fair, Versteeg has looked real bad this year. But the Panthers are pretty shit.

Jimmy Hayes & Dylan Olsen are so.....whatever, though.

bonzo48280 11-14-2013 08:58 PM

$2.2 mil cap hit for the next 3 seasons for Versteeg. Amazing

I can't wait for my love/hate relationship with Versteeg to start again.

Exactly. Hayes has the skill, so does Olsen. They just didn't fit. I hope they get a real chance in FLA.

Stan basically is gambling 2.2 million cap hit on Versteeg refinding his groove with Toews and Kane and company. I love it.

I mean to me Hayes is a 3rd liner at best and Olsen is a 3rd-pairing d-man at best. Probably for mediocre teams. They are slower players that just don't fit the Hawks' team and Q's system.

bonzo48280 11-14-2013 09:10 PM

I have a raging clue tonight.

Yeah, I mean, I personally think Olsen's ceiling is a little higher than Hayes, but yeah. I don't see Hayes being a top 6 forward. If Olsen could ever learn to make better decisions with the puck, and become a little stronger on his skates, he could potentially be a top 4 defenseman, but I highly doubt it.

But yeah I agree with you. Olsen fell to about #4 or so on the Hawks defenseman prospect depth chart, and Hayes had plenty of shots at becoming a strong power forward on the roster, but with Bickell and Saad already cemented into their roles, there really wasn't a spot for Hayes.

This is a great trade by Bowman, moving two pieces that really don't have a future with the Hawks anymore.

Kris Versteeg just walked right up to Dale Tallon and kissed him on the mouth.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Whenever people ask me what I think of Versteeg, this is the first clip I show them:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ohQAGK1hsc

"Well, ya see, one minute you're thinking 'GOD DAMNIT VERSTEEG' for losing the puck by trying to do too much, the next minute you're thinking 'OH MY GOD I LOVE KRIS VERSTEEG' for burying a game winner top shelf on Luongo."

bonzo48280 11-14-2013 09:32 PM

I knew exactly what video that was before the commentary.
