Mid-July is what they hoped. Phoenix was a big hang up and Olympics too. That seems to be all but set too. So a few weeks. But hey those preseason ones are out and...yeah I don't give a shit whatsoever about that.

Disagree chris. Yes dupuis has a much longer and somewhat better track record but he is OLD. I prefer the bickell deal no doubt.

The Bickell deal is proof of everything that is still wrong with the post-lockout NHL.

As per John Shannon;

Best bet is that Olympic announcement will be around July 11th...NHL schedule on July 17th.

So this..

‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun:
Bruins and Bergeron are close but still not done. Once it is, I'd expect the deal to be 8 yrs and between $52 M and $54 M.

and this..

@FriedgeHNIC: Hearing that Rask extension -- although not done yet -- will be in the 8 year/$56M range.

That's a lot of money.

:lol When will GMs learn that signing goaltenders to 8+ year deals is an AWFUL IDEA?!

Would have liked to see it be no more than three years at his age, but he was due a hefty raise after being 15th in goal scoring last season, being a 60 point scorer the year prior, missing two games over the past four seasons, and being a key component on the most productive line in the NHL.

the cap hit is fine. but four more years of kunitz and dupuis on sids line is what makes me go eh. we know what is going to happen, they'll light it up in the regular season, then in the playoffs crosby will be double or triple teamed. dupuis can't create on his own, so that line will be shut down.

Does Chiarelli really think he can land Alfredsson? For my money, I say there is about a 0.00000000001% chance he signs anywhere but Ottawa.

I agree. I don't think he leaves. Although I'm sure playing with Chara might tempt him. However once they sign Rask to $7mil a year the will be right up against the cap so unless he's gonna sign for WAY cheap, I just don't see it happening.

So, how about that NHL All-star team voting?

Mother-fucking facepalm.

For those who are unaware. Ovi was voted 1st team all-star at right wing.....and 2nd team all-star LW. WTF?!?!?

@TSNBobMcKenzie If you didn't know Ovechkin played RW this season, or didn't pick up the phone to find out, you really shouldn't be voting for awards.

@FriedgeHNIC Just saw the All-Star voting. Oh boy...worse is that voters were WARNED about position change.

Colorado Avalanche ‏@avsnews 29m Matt Hunwick and Greg Zanon clear waivers, so they’re still Avs

Damn... oh well.

You got Cory Sarich so the Avs are fine.

You know, he and Zanon should - in a perfect world - make a really good 3rd pair and PK unit. In a perfect world. Should.

I guess, if you think about it, the defense can't get much worse so might as well trade him.

First, if I'm the Pens that scares the shit out of me.

Second, I was hoping for a pic of a hot girl.

Chara and Kelly being here might help the cause, but no I don't see anyway we get him. Our chance would've been this past season with all of the Sens injuries but they didn't tank out of the playoffs somehow lol

Yeah it's getting very difficult to find pictures of a hot girl on the internet these days.

Apparently Patrick Kane and Martin St. Louis received votes for LW for the NHL's All-Star teams. Steven Stamkos received more votes at RW than Marian Hossa did.

:lol Just shows you how worthless these are.
