Flyers should only play home games against Detroit and play all other games in Pittsburgh

7 goals and the Tavares line was quiet. Need to tighten up the d and goaltending needs to get better but I will take another win against a quality team.

As an aside, islanders ran a promotion where if you emailed in the Islanders correct shots on goal at end of the 3rd period, you got put in the running m/drawing to win a team signed stick. I nailed it at 29 so it's a longshot but, hey, it would be super cool if it happened.

Great quote from Jagr:

Jagr on pre-game ceremony: "It was good for Canada and maybe the whole world just to show we stick together no matter what happens."

Jagr is amazing.

Alex Ovechkin just played a remarkable defensive hockey game

Through 7 games, the Caps have given up the fewest total shots on goal in the East

Whaaaaaaat

Finally got around to watching the Hamonic E:60 story. :( :( So inspirational what he does though.

Confused. Are you saying one of your teams knocked out your other team or that one of your teams knocked out the Blackhawks? Both are accurate.

Knew the Rangers were losing after that 2 on 0 goal. Good thing is my curling season started so I only had to watch the first period of that mess.

Scary moment at Staples. Nick Foligno ran into the ref, head crumbled, stretchered off ice. Staples was completely silent while they tended to him, standing ovation when they wheeled him off the ice. I love hockey fans. Word is he is responsive and moving limbs.

Update: I figured it was a long shot as there had to be a bunch of entries and many people at 29 but boom, look at the email I just received.

Hi Sal.

Congratulations! You are the winner of this week's Prediction Challenge. We had 167 entries, 11 of which correctly predicted 29 as the number of shots on goal. From those 11 entries, we did a random draw, and you're the winner!

You've won the team-signed stick. Please let us know where we should ship your prize.

Thank you again for playing.

Penguins holding a press conference to announce a mass was found on Olli Maata's thyroid, they are 85% sure it is cancerous

Poor guy. I'm so sad...praying for the best

Fuck cancer.

hailtopitt 10-27-2014 10:16 AM

Word is that he can play the next 3 games until he goes under the knife and could possibly return to play within 4 weeks of surgery barring any set backs. Very encouraging but still scary as fuck. He is only 20 years old. Nothin but love for my favorite penguin

And yes, fuck cancer
