Isles signed Bouchard from Minn. Is that our Boyes replacement likely first line RW. Guy has a mush head, from what I remember. Upgrade if healthy. More playmaker, than scorer, I think??

I wish Horton nothing but the best that guy was Mr. Clutch during playoffs, but for that money Columbus fans will get pissed when he goes into full on float mode lol.

Not a bad price for Bozak considering what was being reported.

Again assuming last season's injury was one off, then he's an improvement over Fil IMO.

The thing about Horton is he's 1 bad hit away from being done for good. He's had major concussion issues which makes the 7 years a bit scarier for him than Clarkson.

That's a big move by the Sens. Don't like him coming to division c.

As for Fil, gets to play with Stamkos so that should help him. But still Weiss is more worth that price. Fils best year he played wing with Zetterberg.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

If Holmgren truly signed him based off of 17-1 then Emery would be making more than $1.65 million. You took it out of context since he was joking. Here are the five questions he answered about Emery:

Quote:

Q: Can you talk about what sold you on bringing Ray Emery back?

“17-1 helped. (laughter) When Ray was here the last time… I certainly have a very strong and positive memory of when Ray played for us, even though it ended in February, I think, in a game in Calgary when he shut out Calgary, and then the next morning we were in Edmonton and he wakes up with a sore hip. Then he went through a real difficult surgery, obviously battled his way back. He’s been a good player here now for two or three years. We’re excited to have him back. With Ray and with Steve as our two goalies, we have a good combination in net, a good duo that we can go to bat with.”

Q: Does Ray seem more mature and better equipped to handle a two-goalie tandem?

“I don't think there's any question. He's three or four years older since the last time he was here. I thought Ray was a good citizen, a good soldier, and he played good when he was here. Going through what he went through I think probably certainly gave him a great deal of resolve to work his way back to the NHL and perform at the level he’s played at now. We’re happy to have him back and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Q: Did you sign Ray to battle for #1 or to be the #2?

“That’ll all be decided once we get going. They’re both good goalies that we like. Steve’s a young guy who obviously started out with a bang and had a couple down years. I think last year, even in his time in Columbus, it looked like he had bounced back, and we were certainly happy with the way he played for us at the end of the year. When you've got two good goalies that you're comfortable with, they’re both extremely competitive, both very athletic, both good teammates… I think it’s a real positive for our team.”

Q: Prefer if one of them emerge?

“I think all that will come out in the wash. Right now we’re happy to have two good goalies.”

Q: Ray mentioned that he and Mason had been skating together in the offseason. Was that important to you guys?

“I didn’t even know that. I know Ray called in earlier in the day and asked for Steve’s phone number and wanted to reach out to him, which I thought was a real positive. They're both good guys. They'll be good teammates, they’ll work well together and I think they’ll help us win a lot of hockey games.”

The question is, where will Bryzgalov end up?

So did see Horton out until December. That sucks. Gotta hope they stay above water until then. Don't dig too big of a hole.
