Attended year one and had an absolute blast. Would love to do it again. Hopefully better food options at the Moon palace.

Was disappointed to not go last year but other plans got in the way. Might just have to pull the trigger on it.

These prices don't include flight though do they?

Hope they can solve their stinky seaweed problem by then...

Re: **Official** Dave & Tim Mexico 2020

I am really considering this. What are good flight options? And when is the best time to buy? I would assume that the weekend this is being held on will be a HUGE flight weekend due to the extended vacation many have. Anyone have a tip/guide as well people used for the last 3 years for things to bring, to do, etc.

And finally, if going solo (Trying to convince friends currently) - is anyone here open to splitting costs???

Based on what I saw...
5 night (2 people) $3,149
5 night (3 people) $2,769
5 night (4 people) $2,559

I wouldn't have a problem saving ~700 and sharing a room with 3 other people lol

Oh man, ,after reading reviews of this place I really might have to reconsider. Not trying to be sold a time share every 10 minutes and the seaweed is a big issue right now. Really wish they wouldnt have switched resorts...

If you join the FB group there are generally a lot of people looking for roommates. Many people have had great success in previous years

I think that price is per person, not a total for the whole group.

I attended year one and three and both were an absolute blast. Anyone on the fence should pull the trigger, you won’t regret it. Glad they switched venues (just because I’d done the Barcelo twice), I hope the new place is as nice.

Was actually just reading the reviews. That is really disappointing. I heard that the amphitheater from prior years is being remodeled or the area around it is being remodeled and that is why they had to pick a different location. Maybe the seaweed recedes in the winter?

It’s hard to say if it’s a seasonal/summer thing, or a climate change/nature patterns thing. I will say seaweed was bad in the Barcelo beach the second half of last years trip. While it was noticeable it didn’t impact my trip.

Overall the Moon Palace has much better reviews than the Barcelo.

I’m in for my 3rd trip if I can figure out vacation time and finances.....

For anyone on the fence, the past trips have been well worth it.

You called it with the Crash My Playa promoter location change, Cheryl!
Last year was an amazing trip, and I’m excited for a different hotel. I thought the hotel staff did a good job cleaning up the seaweed. Now if there was something they could’ve done about the wind that last day..that was wild and I’m from Chicago!

Re: **Official** Dave & Tim Mexico 2020

My wife and I did an anniversary trip to the Moon Palace in 2015 and loved it. The resort is closer to the airport and the beach there isn't one you really hang out on, it's more of a hang out at the pool kind of place. I obviously can't speak to current seaweed issues.

The time share selling wasn't bad. You just basically say no thanks when they push at check in and that was it.

Overall, we had a great experience. Food at all the restaurants was good to very good, staff was great and thought the pools were nice and very well maintained. From personal experience, I would recommend this location.

I have never been to Barcelo so I can't compare the two, but wanted to share my experience at MP.

Thanks for posting, that makes me feel better. Any ideas on how the stage set up is there, is it still on the beach or is it in a more permanent structure?

Almost all online reviews show that Moon Palace is a much nicer resort than Barcelo - cleaner, better accommodations, and BETTER FOOD!

The reviews of the beach are terrible, I'll miss the ocean soundcheck, but other than that we spent all day at the pool anyways.

If I can't decide to go for a few months -- is it possible to find a room to join via that Facebook group? Or are name changes not possible? (i'd basically be looking to take over someone's open space probably)

We were at the Hard Rock resort last summer for a famil vacation and they had a seaweed problem during our stay. For whatever reason, for three days the little lagoon bay beach (those who have stayed there know what I mean) was swamped with seaweed. The staff worked night and day to clear it by bagging it and lugging it off site. I think it’s just a fact of life there.

Oh what the hell! I’m in. Just rejoined the warehouse for a 10th time. Wife and I will be there. Looking at a standard 4 night package. If anyone has any feedback on what to request for rooms (sunrise or Nizuc, not doing The Grand). Also, I will be curious to learn about stage setup, read some thing about previous shows there that weren’t very kind.

Wife and I will be celebrating 10 years and mean turning 37 on 2/16. Looking forward to partying with you all.

I wonder if flights will be more expensive since it’s Valentine’s Day weekend.

I do not know for sure but Dead & Co. will be there in Jan, and supposedly details for their shows has been sent and the stage setup is on the beach near the Grand.

Also, I think it's good news Dead & Co. will be there a month earlier. Work out any kinks.

Southwest doesnt have their flights posted yet but for us (coming from Missouri) it was about $1600-$1700 round trip for 2.

Good call. See Dead and Co a few times, that’s sure to be amazing as well.

Yep, for right now. That’s leaving on a Thursday morning and coming back in a Monday. Unless there is some secret trick to finding better flights. I’m in no rush to book flights though.

the secret trick is not to pay 800-850 a person the day the concerts are announced.

Most airlines don't book this far out, and the ones that are available will be pretty expensive. I plan on checking in a month or two
