Yeah, I didn't mind it. Looks like they took the lighting rig that separated the vid-bowl and hung it as part of the main rig, and then they brought in bigger vid-walls for the backdrop behind the band. I wanna say they did the same thing for the Bethel show on that tour, too. If my memory is correct.

Just thought about this just now: dmb going back to one set will make the pit a little bit more enjoyable. one of the worst things about being in the front of the pit was waiting for the second set to start after the accousitc set. Standing in that crowded pit with no music sucks because you have no place to sit and it feels like forever until the band comes back on stage again. Now you can stroll in about 7 and be ready for the band to be out around 8:25. and that's it no more set break.

Was listening to The Stone (LT 8 this morning) Butch added so much to that song. He really filled it out.

Throw in Dreamed I Killed God in the middle ala 97 D&T and now your cooking with gas. What I wouldn't give to hear DIKG, especially full band. Oh the things they could do with that!

LT 8 is the best released version IMO.

It hasn't been getting much talk because of everything else that happened at the show, but that Ants from Cville was unreal. That jam with just boyd and then the band slowly coming back in was such a fun moment at the show.

From what I understand Rhinos aren't doing so hot in the wild and I feel like I've heard Dave talk about the preservation them
Just a random thought. I wouldn't mind hearing a song about a rhino thats got like a south africa feel to it (think Eh Hee meets Dodo)

When I met him in Atlanta last year, he said 'I'm going to draw you a rhino be cause that's my animal of the moment'. Not sure there's much more behind it than that

Dave has become more of an advocate for endangered rhinos in the last year. That's definitely where it came from.


Management posted a picture with him visiting a sanctuary over the winter I believe.

Surprised I haven't seen this anywhere yet.

Seems to me they started pretty early in Wichita the other night - around 8:11 or so? Anyone think we could expect that regularly. Personally, I'm banking more on the 8:25-8:30ish range (depending on venue obviously).

Not that it even matters. And yes, good call, they did end a bit early I thought. But hey, at least they didn't wait til 8:40! That was a little refreshing at least.

its funny how time changes opinions. not saying that you guys specifically ever complained, but back in 2010 jeff was getting shit from a lot of people for his long #41 solos. people were happy to see them go away and the song get cut down by about 5 minutes.

Jeff Coffin kills it. Branford aside, I don't think anyone could have stepped in the way he did. I first saw him at the 4/21/02 show in Montreal. Go watch that 41. Right now. He and Roi jamming out together was incredible.
