Influence is the more objective measure, but even that is colored by how easy something can be replicated. DMB has proven pretty impossible to replicate without sounding horribly derivative. Their uniqueness is as much a weakness as it is strength regarding DMB's longterm "popularity" (the real modern notion of relevance). Even the artists that claim them as an influence don't sound anything like them.

People could more easily cop the Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and other influences. But like Soundgarden, DMB has too much special sauce for folks to really cop even if they potentially had the skills.

Regardless, we still love tghe band and are looking forward to shows and new music.

Dave has his hands all over on what guests joined DMB on stage, LeRoi obviously invited notable sax players to come on stage, Stefan probably was the one that got Mike McCready to guest a couple times among others, I'm guessing Carter got people to guest, but I've never heard of Boyd getting anyone to come out on stage.

I am so bummed we will never hear what One Sweet World would have sounded like in the studio with Lillywhites touch on it.

Speaking of One Sweet World, with LeRoi gone, I wish they'd go back to the RTT version without the horn line. It was awesome with LeRoi and not as much without. I'd prefer the old school version again at this point.

Watchtower sucks with Tim C/DC going full electric as the pace of the song has been sped up as opposed to the versions with Santana where it was more acoustic until it came time to solo time. I absolutely hate the current version of Watchtower but wish i was going to shows back in the late 90s when it actually was a solid cover.

I don’t like the Starway to Heaven interpolation. I mean, the first time I heard that live it was fun, but now everytime I listen to Dave falsetto voice making Robert Plant, I hate it.
Also Tim solo here is exactly like the one from Led Zeppelin, it doesn’t introduce anything new and it doesn’t leave any space for digressions. It is just scholastic.

They're meant to go hand-in-hand so there aren't a ton of repeats between them. Haven't started Fall yet.
