Sorry, that's not funny. I truly feel bad.

It's kinda funny, in that so bad you just have to laugh kind of way.
I wonder if it's just a matter of time before someone like taylor hall starts looking at an exit strategy if a turnaround isn't looking likely.

I mean, hindsight is always 20/20, but I was 2nd guessing that Yakupov draft pick when it happened...how did that pick make ANY sense?

I get that they didn't luck out like the Hawks where their 1st round picks ended being as game changing as Kane and Toews, but Yakupov just didn't make any sense at all on that team ever.

They should have gone after Murray or Rielly.

Hey they won last night and a big thank you from an Atlantic Division team.

I think we all questioned that back then. Need was D so for the 100th straight year they took offense.

Woke up to the final score and took me 5 minutes to convince myself I still wasn't dreaming!

My disdain for Yakupov is will documented in these parts, but it should be said again. Worst. Draft choice. Ever.

Yeah, I remember that same thing. I think we even talked about it in here way back when. Like you said, the draft wasn't deep that year, which to me would mean taking a positional player who could contribute to building a foundation at something other than top line talent. They really missed out on Ryan Murray.

I get that a lot of times taking the "best" player available is often the best strategy. I have eaten crow twice in recent memory when I was upset at the Avs for not selecting Dougie Hamilton and Seth Jones and instead going after these two bums named Landeskog and MacKinnon. Whoops.

But it's different in that the Oilers, in that "weak" draft, didn't have a clear-cut "best" player to go after.

Yeah the little screwball went 0-fer and a -1. Thanks for doing nothing for my fantasy club in your first ever NHL game, Drouin. :rolleyes

Watching it now. Was doing great until he made the comment about giving up all his games and time in the NHL just for his dad to see him play one shift and be able to talk to him about it.

:snot

Talking about him getting stretchered out and him losing it was tough. Him talking to all the kids who have lost parents got me too. I wanna go home and give G a hug right now. God I've turned soft. lol

Yep. Parenthood softened me up, too and I have a very close relationship with my dad so it got me from both angles. No kid should have to lose a parent young, especially when his dad was obviously a great dad.

Looks like Datsyuk will be back tonight but still on Franzen. One day they'll be 100% healthy....right?

so CBJ played back-to-back last Friday/Saturday. home against Calgary and then on the road against an Ottawa team that was off Friday.

Then they get the entire week off basically and play 3 games in 4 days on the west coast.

I'm not complaining about CBJ specifically because from what I've seen most teams are having to deal with this same issue but why is the schedule so jacked up this year? or am i just imagining this completely?

I'd move a couple teams up or down a couple slots, but for the most part, spot on.

only thing i can think of is last season being an Olympic year gave them limited options with off days/back-to-backs

still seems pretty jacked up this year though

Worst period of the year. Disgusting. We need to beat a team like this at home if we want to make the playoffs. We were not good at home last year and that needed to change, this year. :mad
