Fantastic first game by NY!! Totally expect Montreal to be MUCH better in game two though. They clearly had some Boston hang over going on. Either way, worse case we come back with a 1-1 split, best case 2-0 series lead!! Great W!

Subban had a complete dud of a game.

Scary thought for the Habs if Rick Nash can get rolling.

any word on Price? Is he hurt?

Was not expecting the Rangers to put up a touchdown and an extra point.

Nah, he's fine. Just a bad game.

Brassard is the big question mark.

Nope it's just luck. That's what the playoffs are. Total luck they got 7 on the Habs.

Just reading that Claude Lemieux, Al MacInnis, Donald Audette, Ted Donato, Glen Wesley, Michael Nylander, and Pierre Turgeon all have sons in this year's draft class.

Feeling kinda old right now.

Re: The NHL Thread

I can't read the actual article by Mark Madden but this guy is fucking nuts. I'll be the first to admit Babcock could end up in Pitt next year if Bylsma stays and Babs doesn't get a new deal. But some of the stuff he says in the arctile (the parts I know of through this page below) it's conspiracy type shit. I mean :

"If Detroit won't release Babcock, the Penguins should sign current assistant Jacques Martin to a one-year contract, thus making it clear that Babcock takes over in 2015-16," Madden wrote. "Babcock refuses to sign an extension with Detroit. He becomes a lame duck. Babcock has already said he's in no hurry to do a new deal.

"That paints Detroit into a corner. Babcock gets released. It's a dirty game. But the Penguins need to play it. The Penguins need a coach with pedigree to match that of their superstar players. Babcock has it."

This doesn't even make sense. So you'll sign Martin to a one year deal (I'm sure he'd be all about that) and somehow that, along with Babs not getting a new deal, with force Detroit to release him from his contract? I'm sure the Wings will say "well, he might be gone next year so lets just let him go to a Eastern Conference rival right now." Is this what jourlasim has become? Speculative bullshit based on nothing and not based in reality? Again, he could be there a year from now. But this stuff this guys writes is just crazy.

That's what I wanna know from out Pitt people. I mean the craziest fans on message boards prolly wouldn't make this kinda crazy stuff.

Though with the Penguins out most of their fans won't be in here much anymore

Re: The NHL Thread

I've never understood why Babcock would leave in the first place. Detroit has some great talent, young to boot. They were manhandled this year with injuries, I think Babcock would at least want a chance with a healthy lineup.

I love the people running these official accounts:

@LAKings: The Blackhawks, who are clearing using some sort of Game Genie to keep the puck in play, fire one past Quick. #LAKings trail 1-0.

@NHLBlackhawks: .@LAKings Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start

Haven't seen the goal, by the sound of the radio announcers, refs cheated in order to take away a goal?

It's debatable if it was goalie interference.

But goalie interference isn't reviewable. So they took a goal away based on something they weren't allowed to do.
