I can't imagine either side letting a lockout happen. They have gained way too much since the last one to let that happen. The NHL will want some changes, a better split of revenue, so that'll be a sticking point I think. I think that'll be the biggest hurdle to overcome.

As far as the Yotes they have a potential owner but still nothing signed sealed and delivered. If I thought the Coyotes could survive there I'd be fine with them staying but they've shown nothing in 16 years to make believe that.

I keep forgetting they have been there for 16 years. It is incredible. When they move, do you think there will be any pressure on a Florida team to move as well? Are they going to try and relocate stateside or go up north? I think Canada deserves more teams, just don't know what that does on the travel side of the business

I'll get this over to our equipment manager to put on the back of your sweater.

Oh crap... we don't have an equipment manager. Any volunteers?

And yes, we're currently in negotiations Fata and Daigle's agents. All are extremely excited about the prospect of playing with each other, almost to the point they're willing to take a pay cut. Also discussing trade options with Paul Holmgren to get OMGCG.

I think the success of the Jets this year, in terms of a fanbase and revenue, has shown the NHL that relocation to Canada is profitable. I think they go there. Quebec or Toronto.

Florida teams will stay put. The Lightning have a solid fan base that show up enough. And the Panthers fans are there when the team gives them a reason to be.

Colubmus is in just as much danger as Florida. The NHL's job is far from over whenever Phoenix is resolved whether this group gets ownership or they move to Quebec. Florida, the Isles and Columbus all have issues. There aren't many more Canadian cities that can handle a team no matter what people in Canada think. QC and another team in TO. I don't think Hamilton will ever happen. It's a big business and the NHL has to cover their asses. I was a big supporter of Columbus but am losing faith. There are a few teams that could be on the move.

I agree with this plus the NHL wants to keep some rival for TBL. I mean the closest team in term of regional rivalry is in Raleigh.

Panthers fans came out in droves this season. That's another cool thing about their season - they found out they actually have really good fans who will support them, like you said, when the team gives them a reason to.

Yeah I think Columbus is quickly going the same route as Phoenix.

Completely forgot about Columbus. The ownership their is horrible with the moves they have done (which I can not complain about, being a Flyers fan). Where else can a new team go? What major cities don't have a hockey team? Could Seattle handle a team? I don't know if that has ever been tested, but they don't have a basketball team any more so they may be able to find fans for hockey.

What you guys don't understand is that the Bluejackets are now owned by the city. They will be here forever. We had a tax levy to keep them and it stays through 2039 or something.

Seattle and Oklahoma City have come up in rumors in the past.

However, I know Tim and I are in agreement that having a team or two fold wouldn't be a bad thing.

Quebec City
Toronto
Seattle

All those teams will have arenas in the next few years. People always bring up Hartford but they are a long way off from getting a team which I have a feeling they won't but ya never know.

Seattle could set up a real nice rivalry with Vancouver. That would be great.

Seriously? There is talk of moving a 2nd team to Toronto with the Sabres right across the border? Who would root for them?

Yeah in the suburb of Markham.

http://www.canada.com/sports/arena+d...702/story.html

It's north of the city so I don't think it would hurt Buffalo and it wouldn't hurt the Leafs. They sell out every game and suck. The money the Leafs make is what could draw the NHL there. The expansion fee for the city too would be ridiculous.
