I am with you on that. Q and Kitchen are clueless. I am sick of this stick-waving pansy ass system that they play and his line juggling and coaching decisions are as clueless as can be. This team needs a new coach that will light a fire under their ass along with someone who knows how to run a PP and PK.

right, I was speaking in general. we have lost the last 7 playoff games that went into OT.

Lundqvist is 1-7 for playoff OT. He's not good in OT, for some reason.

Trust me, I of all people know that Lundqvist is the best of the best. But I also know that he sucks in OT during the playoffs.

They don't have it in them.

Bolland hasn't been playoff Bolland, Sharp has been a ghost, Keith has been average at best, Hjalmarsson sucks dick, Leddy isn't ready, Oduya is Campoli 2.0, Toews hasn't been Toews since he came back, Kane lost his scoring touch this season, and Hossa is gone.

AND FUCKING CRAWFORD.

This team has shown that it moves in streaks. Both highs and lows. If they were clicking, I'd agree with you, but they aren't. They can't find the back of the net, and I'm convinced Mike Smith isn't THAT good. We could have had almost 40 shots on net but CONSTANTLY fire wide on good chances. Duncan Keith can't find the net for the fucking life of him. Seabrook has been the only defenseman worth a damn.

God, this team has so much money committed to an average/below average blue line. It's horrendously frustrating. Overpaid Montador, overpaid Hjalmarsson, fuck.

Is it just me or do 9 out of every 10 passes "jump" over his stick?

I dont have any confidence in them winning another game. I just hope im pleasantly surprised and we get to watch a few more Hawks games this year.

despite me not caring for either team, i hope the hawks and/or wings do come back. i am a big blues fan and it makes sense for me to root against proven powers and rivals like the hawks or the wings...but if it is the 'yotes vs preds, i can't see myself getting into that series.

I threw out the TSN consensus was Canucks/Pens and I think we agree that won't happen. Unless both came back from down 0-3.

Melrose picked Blackhawks and Penguins. This is why I love the Stanley Cup playoffs. Yeah we might have Preds/Yotes but I love the unpredictability of the NHL over lets say the NBA.

Coyotes shut us down in the regular season. So...anyone who imagined this would be an easy series is nuts.

Hey, 4 overtime games that could have gone either way. Unfortunately Crawford went from playing solid all series to giving up 2 really, really bad goals. And I think it's obvious that the offense looks a bit out of sorts. Yotes deserve a ton of credit for that because that is their style. Hurts to lose Shaw & Hossa, Toews is still sort of finding his footing...

But for me, the defense just isn't good enough. Not efficient enough getting the puck out of their own end. PP not good enough. And those things go directly to the coaching staff. Hawks lose in 5 and Kitchen (at least) has got to go.

It all boils down to the playmakers and stars just not being that.

We're one player short. It causes Q to juggle the lines way too much and not find something cohesive.

With Hoss gone, that problem is just exposed that much worse. Toews is actualy easier to replace than Hossa was. Look at our problem now, no matter what, you're screwing one of the lines. Stack 10-19-88 and then the 2nd line is a waste. Split up those guys, and one of them gets screwed and is just babysitting.

Sharp has 1 goal, on a redirect with 5 seconds left in the 3rd. Toews hasn't scored since the first goal of the series, Kane hasn't scored at all, Keith hasn't put a puck on net since 1994, etc. etc.

Not to mention special teams are fucking atrocious. Frolik has looked incredibly great, and Morrison actually was pretty good yesterday (even without the goal). I don't know what to make of this team, but when the 3 forwards making almost $20 million aren't putting the puck in the net, you aren't going to win many games, especially in the post season.

The last part is right on. Your best players need to be your best players. Yeah you want your role players to step up and contribute but if your best players aren't doing it then eventually you'll lose.

I wouldn't say Bolland hasn't been effective. His line has been the most consistent and the top line of the Yotes hasn't done anything. Whitney and Vrbata? Are they even playing? It's insane that those two guys have been non-existent and we are down 3-1.

Bolland's line has done what has been needed and Bickell has played very well in this series. You can't expect 36 to score when he's playing against the top line all night.

Exactly.

Another point, everyone, even me, was singing Stalberg's praises...but he just appears when it doesn't matter. I'm convinced of it now. He's a bum slayer. Racking up goals against the Blue Jackets, etc. and pad stats, then when it matters, he's a ghost.

But bottom line, Sharp needs to score, Toews needs to score, KANE NEEDS TO PUT THE PUCK IN THE NET.

That's the bottom line. Average blue line be damned, this is one of the highest scoring offenses in the NHL, and we're giving up 2 goals in regulation routinely, and can't win a game. You can't fault the blue line and Crawford that much. We're missing the net on prime opportunities and padding our shot totals from bad spots on the ice. So many shots that really have no chance of going in are being sent into Smith's breadbasket, making him look like freaking Ryan Miller in the Olympics. Then when we have the puck in the high slot, etc. with a clear shot, we fire wide or try to make an extra move and lose the puck. It's ridiculous.

Bolland has definitely been effective, and his line has been the best, hands down. Bickell-Bolland-Frolik has been the best line on either team. Bolland just isn't "playoff Bolland". Ya know, the guy that picks Pavol Demitra's pocket on the blue line and scores a break away short handed. Or puts up a goal and 3 assists and is a +4 when we're down 3 games to none to the Canucks. That guy. He always shuts down top lines, but 36 usually has those massive ridiculous "holy fuck Dave Bolland you're my hero" moments/games in the playoffs. Haven't seen that yet.

IMO, Hawks have played pretty decent hockey in this series. Team defense has been an issue all year and PP has been issue all year and both haven't been good enough. We've routinely dominated Phoenix in scoring chances, but Mike Smith has been good and that team keeps it to the outside and is very, very opportunistic. They cash in when they get a chance. Unfortunately Crawford wasn't great last night or in OT of Game 3. Unfortunately the D made 2 very bad mistakes last night and they paid for it. Had Crawford given up a goal on the breakaway early in the 3rd, nobody would have blamed him had the Hawks lost 2-1 or 3-2. Series isn't over yet.

Wow, road teams in the playoffs so far are 20-9. So much for home ice advantage.

What really bothers me, is that....Sharp & Toews are still giving you that effort in the d-zone. Any forward can go cold offensively over a 4-game stretch, but those guys still play solid, smart hockey. Kane has been dreadful. He routinely tries to stick-handle through 2 defenders and gets knocked off the puck easily...or drifts to the center of the ice and gets stripped of the puck because he didn't shoot early enough. It's just annoying. Kid just refuses to get the puck on net.

Ya gotta give the Yotes some credit. Hawks are getting well over 30 shots a game and PHX is either keeping the opportunities to the outside or Mike Smith is making all of the tough saves. You can't expect to keep up at the same scoring pace against this team. So in that sense, the Hawks just can't afford to make those mistakes like Oduya & Leddy made last night and Crawford has to stop those 19 shots.

Also, there is a ton of talent on that defense. But the "sticks in lanes" shit just needs to soften. Take the goddamn body. Keith has been completely neutered by this defensive system. It would be nice to have Montador right now to be honest. We need another physical d-man in the lineup.

The thing the Pens have against them is if they win tonight game 6 is on the road. Wings get game 6 at home. I don't think Flyers and Pens goes past game 6.

This is my thought as well. The Pens will carry the energy from the Game 4 whuppin to tonight and win. But the Flyers will hunker down and take care of business at home. But IF the Pens can scratch and claw their way to game 7. If...(cue some sort of Morgan Freeman narration). A fool can hope right?!

Then again, this series has defied all logic and reason. Nothing makes sense. Who knows what will happen? Hold on to your butts.

:lol Very true! I should edit my above post with: Will Fleury remember his head too? The Pens had TWO shutout periods in Game 4. Unheard of in this series! I was watching Bruins-Caps last night and it felt weird not seeing a goal every few minutes!

At least Bon Jovi has fun bar singalong type songs. There is nothing redeeming whatsoever about Nickelback. Canada is strangely proud of them. They make Bryan Adams look like Bob Dylan.
