He was never able to get his career back on track to the level he was at, and he's never been (and will never be) able to live that incident down. No matter what he does, he will always be that guy who got pissed and ended Steve Moore's career basically before it had really begun. On one hand, I ask (and he probably asks) how long he's required to suffer before he's atoned for his actions? Unfortunately, probably never. That's too bad. That's the "mercy" side of me.

The other part of me, however, thinks about how Bert is still making millions of dollars playing hockey while Moore is not. This is the "justice" side of me that thinks "The least Bert can do is feel bad and take some ridicule while Moore sits at home with physical damage unable to play and even function normally."

Not saying either the "justice" or "mercy" sides of me are completely right... they are just the normal spectrum of human emotions I run through when I think about this situation.

This is well put. Bert is your Lemieux. Claude didn't end Draper's career thankfully but the hatred from both sides i there. I have a lot more respect for The Turtle...errr Lemieux than I used to. That interview he did with McCarty was great. When you hear them, without all the emotion that they had going on for years after that hit, you see both sides of it.

With ya on the money thing. Still amazed we're 10 years later and this whole trial thing still hasn't been resolved.

outside of Tim randomly lashing out at the jackets last night we always proceed with very sophisticated and interesting discussion, even when we don't agree.

You're gonna get those tomorrow when the Jackets play, and especially Tuesday.

Would love that. Wanted to get everyone together for Foote's jersey retirement, but you losers all pussed out. Schreibs I can understand - he would have to turn in his Jackets fan card if he participated in something celebrating anything regarding Adam Foote. But the rest of you... I feel betrayed. ;)

An outdoor game Ants meet-up would be awesome.:thumbsup

JLA has always been a shit hole. Seats are tight, bathrooms are scarce but for a playoff game...awesome. I can't imagine there is an arena with better sight line than Joe Louis. The newer ones are pretty good, ACC and Nationwide are two I've been to. A lot built in the late 80's and early 90's went for hugeness and suites and didn't care that you felt a mile away sitting at the top.

Habs fans are huge douche bags in general would be my problem. Winnipeg would be a great place because it's so small compared to other arenas.

yea, that's one nice thing about the consol, it may be very white collar and new-age, but the sight lines are great and, at least from i can tell on TV, has the best lighting in the league

too bad the regular season crowds are sushi-eating, indifferent, always on my cell phone asshole

Plenty of public transit in Chicago. Honestly I barely drink anymore myself. Especially at hockey games, or any entertainment venue for that matter. Damn those prices are stupid.

When hockey was at it's high point here, like 97-2004, the Detroit crowds were like that. Pretty quiet during the regular season unless the Avs were town. I find regular season games to be much more energetic now than they used to be.

That would have been cool. Really wanted to go to a game at Maple Leaf Gardens back in the day. ACC is really nice though. The concourse is as wide as a two lane highway. Doesn't feel like 20k people are there. I like that it also has an upstairs concourse too, like Nationwide. Makes it not so packed.

We interrupt this conversation with a special report:

Mrs. Fonzz41 reports that today she saw that Hillary Duff and Mike Comrie have separated.

Apparently this happened back in January, but no one really cared.

At least we've still got Carrie and Mike Underwood.

We now take you back to your normally scheduled programming.

Only arena I've seen an NHL game other than MCI/Verizon is MSG. Saw the Caps win a 6-5 thriller back in '10 I think it was. Had a freaking blast. Such a cool arena. So different from what I'm used to (the newness of Verizon)

i wouldn't mind seeing a game in the phone booth actually.

going to a panthers game would be fun too, puts you in pretty exclusive company, like going to the moon.

Has to be if she divorced a [former] hockey player...

I know when the Wings were there recently, there were huge empty sections. Should be cheap.

It was much more fun a couple years ago. I've only been once this year but it was pretty dull

Caps fans are so wishy washy, it doesn't take much for them to lose interest

Just finished watching all four parts. Thanks :thumbsup

Again, the great thing about hockey. They can respectfully sit and talk about it. No accusations, no mincing words. Honest, just chatting about it. Love it.
