Flyers I see but the Leafs ready to give up on Reimer? Also heard the Isles. That one also makes sense.

Flyers will sign Bernier to a 6-year $30+M deal. Then buy him out next season with their special extra compliance buyout given to them by the NHL. Given only to special organizations that can't handle their cap.

Edit: They'll also trade Read and a #2 to get his rights!

I don't know if they see Reimer as a true number one. He had a good season but they played well in front of him. I don't think they should be moving quality assets to get him when they are in clear need of filling other holes.

The only way I see it happening is if It's a reimer for Bernier swap.

In saying that, I don't really see that happening at all.

I want something crazy to happen Like Phaneuf and Gardiner for Weber. They can't keep paying him that contract. Those two players make a difference in your D. Phaneuf is a top 2 d-man on most any roster and Gardiner, as shown when put into the Boston series, is an absolute difference maker on the ice.

I totally recognize that's a pipe dream and will never happen, but a guy can dream, right?

Word on twitter is Bryzgalov will NOT be amnestied.

Uh, what?

The Flyers would have no backup for Mason. Not only that, but they don't see Mason as a #1 goalie. They struck out on Bernier because LA wanted fool's gold, including Couturier. So Bryz stays--for now.

Eat shit, Homer: https://twitter.com/tpanotchCSN/stat...68900250759168

This means that if the Flyers acquire Bernier, Bryz is gone. If not, Bryz stays.

With the Streit deal how can they even be under te cap without buying out Bryz?

It's interesting to be here and listen to Dustin talking about his (hopefully) upcoming contract. It's been a cool thing to observe. Also tonight I noticed he had a little bit of a beard going on and asked if he was growing it out and he said no, he was shaving it later. I told him to make a "contract 'stash" until he signs a new deal. He did and a little while later Nicole noticed and did not approve. We were crackig up. I hope he keeps it though. :lol:lol

Also, it's a bit depressing having Dustin and Nicole throwing around multi million dollar numbers while I'm next to them applying for a shitty 40k job.

That's not actually what the first quote said. It said Homer didn't blame Bryz for the year the team had. I'm not sure if Winter thought that meant he wasn't getting bought out. Homer then came back and said he made no promises to Winter or Bryz. He's still gone IMO. They need the space.

I'm not a huge fan of that. You need help on D. Thought the Oilers should have taken Murray and they would have had great talent up front and on the blue line. They didn't need Yakupov. If the Avs do that they could be making a mistake.

100%. I still hope they flip Yakupov this summer for a #1 or #2 d-man, or (and I'm dreaming a bit but) maybe Bernier.

Also got to give a shout out to the Grand Rapids Griffins winning their first ever Calder Cup. Griffins top 7 playoff scorers and their goalie are all 19-24 years old. The MVP of the playoffs will be on the Wings next year too. Not too shabby.

I've got no problems with Dubnyk, but I also think they would make a really solid 1a, 1b tandem type setup.

D-man would be preferable for Yakupov, but wouldn't complain with a solid goalie either.

Been reading this, and it pisses me off beyond belief. BEYOND. BELIEF. I just have no words. All he has to do is look at the Oilers. C'mon, Joe.

EDIT: Unless they have some big plans already in place for improving defense via trade/free agency. But even then, it's Seth Jones.

I have never used this phrase before, but it feels way too perfect to not use it...

Upon approval by I think city, county and state officials the Wings will have a new arena in downtown Detroit just north of Comerica Park/Ford Field area. While I love The Joe for her atmosphere and great sight lines, she's a shit hole. Bathrooms suck, conession lines are always long and the concourse is so dang cramped it's stupid. I rember while at the ACC for DMB in December thinking "Damn you could drive two cars down here and maybe have a left-turn lane too."

I'm really excited for the new arena/entertainment complex. That area could use it. Woodward is really becoming a hot spot in Detroit.

Mckenzie saying that The Leafs are in on Bernier and it looks to be Frattin + Pick. Someone on another board was saying it looks a lot like Bishop's deal which landed Conacher and a 4th.

I'd do Frattin and a third for him. It would create some goalie trouble in the net but whoever manages to push through gets the job and the other gets traded. Both are Viable #1's in my mind. Especially after the Year Reimer had.
