You've been drinking too much. Wish I was at home, can't complain about being paid to watch hockey though.

Have to get by some pretty solid teams in the west first though, Caps will have a tough road advancing too because there are some solid teams in the east too! :)

Don't want to get ahead of myself because we're the Caps after all, but if we somehow don't choke, is there a chance the Bristow show conflicts with the Cup Final? Or is it too late?

It'll be close, 2015 went to June 15th (6 games) and 2014 went to June 13th (5 games).

Re: The NHL Thread

I'm skipping Bristow this year anyway so no conflict for me

But yeah Bobalew you're way ahead of yourself bud

Great 3rd period from the Caps. Good goaltending from Grubauer as well. Good game, feels good to beat one of the elite from the West. That's been a problem for them.

Well, you can tell how out of touch I am with hockey this year. I didn't even know Gaborik was injured. Reporting he is out indefinitely, with a hopeful return for the playoffs. Hope he returns with a better performance than he left with.

Everyone needs to see the flop by the Devils player. He must have played soccer growing up

Great third for the Flyers yesterday. And Ghost up to 13 games. I believe he has seven more games to tie Stastny.

Even as a Flyers fan, can we talk about what a goon Gudas has become the last month? I know beyond that time period too. But the last 2-3 weeks. wtf is up with that guy? And NO further discipline from the NHL yet. Maybe today?

Re: The NHL Thread

I was not aware Rob Scuderi was placed on waivers tuesday. He could be a valuable pickup for a team needing a extra defenseman and his cap hit would only be about $3,800. Guy gives you everything he's got, gets some good reads, eats up ten to 20 minutes on ice to spell the other D guys TOI and most importantly he has plenty of playoff experience including winning cups with both the Penguins and the Kings so he knows how the playoff grind goes. He is not some Norris type guy but he gets the job done usually averaging a 0 in plus minus. Could be a good pickup for a team in need of D man with experience and veteran presence.

Re: The NHL Thread

Scuderi is a "break glass if needed" number 7 D-man at this point IMO

hopefully i'm wrong, i love the guy, but his value is basically nil right now

Completely agree with your assessment of him gut given his experience, veteran presence and extremely low cap hit I could see a team signing him if only to be there to step up if someone gets injured.

Yeah, I would prefer they got their site in order for streaming video. It still does what it damn well pleases. Audio cuts out and you have to refresh, video freezes necessitating a refresh, often you can only access the home broadcast, the screen just goes dark for minutes at a time and other other problems. I do not care about the app and I do like some of the new features but they really need to get some good programmers in there to fix their many bugs.

Oh also, few weeks ago the Hawks were playing in Dallas (apparently Dallas did not sell the game out) so me, here in CT, was unable to watch the game due to a regional blackout. It was not on national TV and I am not within 500 miles of Dallas or Chicago so I had no idea why I was blacked out.

Ready for the saddest stat of the day?

End of play on Jan 19: Kings led Sharks by 12, Ducks by 16 pts. End of play Feb 16: Kings lead Ducks by 3, Sharks by 4 (Sharks game in hand).
