I leave for an hour and the trash talking starts. That's what I'm talking about.

Again, the more the merrier in this thread. The key? Don't take us seriously. Once you get past that, you'll have a great time. :thumbsup

Oh, and Shanahan is totally reeling now. I have a feeling the Weber non-suspension is going to haunt him for a long time. Possible legacy definer?

Yeah, Nashville's PP is rough when its on. Are PKers can only be perfect for so long before faltering.

Yeah that's what I mean... Not suspending Weber, and the chaos that ensued after around the league is probably what will define his tenure, despite the fact he started off so positively. Everyone will remember him for dropping the ball on the Weber situation.

Adam Proteau ‏ @Proteautype Arron Asham isn't a star, so he'll receive an 8-game suspension. Nicklas Backstrom is a star, so he'll receive 25% off at the NHL Store.
EDIT: But seriously, it looks like Shanahan is in back pedal mode, trying to make up for the Weber thing. Asham will get his balls handed to him, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Neal get something... if only for Shanny to "show" everyone he's not skurred to suspend stars.

Go on, Shanny, I dare you.

Hagelin and Shaw get 3 for an unintentional hit. Crackner gets 1 for 7 hits to a defenseless player and Weber gets 0 for intentionally hitting the head, twice. Am I missing something here?

I think this backpedaling is even worse. All a lot of us want is consistency and proper punishments that fit the conduct. Saying "Well, I'm going to give Shaw 3 games because I totally shit the bed with the Weber and Crackner situations" is horrific logic. Speaking of horrific logic, tying punishment to result/injury is asinine.

The NHL should look to this thread to replace Shanny. We can do a better job, right?!

At this point we should start taking bets on Shanny's punishments for Neal and Asham. Realistically, I think Asham should get 5 games and Neal should get 1. I think you bring in Saad if Frolik is ineffective in a loss, but that's the only scenario, and it's still an IF at that point.

The kid has been lighting up the OHL, yes, but that doesn't mean he's ready for the NHL, let alone the NHL playoffs. It's great to get him some playoff practices and experience the atmosphere, etc. where he can see what these guys are going through on a daily basis, but I don't know about throwing him to the dogs and just expecting him to keep pace in a playoff hockey atmosphere. Kruger at least got some regular season games under his belt last year.

Its crazy how high Blackhawks tickets go for, even during the regular season. I wont even say how much I paid for Game 1 SC Finals tickets in 2010.

On another note, Brendan Shanahan should seriously lose his job. The inconsistancy is baffling.

I want to see Hayes play tonight. Keep Frolik far away from the ice.

I believe Kev can help you out with that.

even though I think they'll lose I'll say Go Wings cause I have to. Hoping it's 2-2 after tonight.

I hope Wings Preds goes 7 because if the Hawks were to advance I think we'll be playing the winner of that series.

Give Fro & Hayes a shot, sure. Brunette is just old and slow. Would rather give Hayes a chance to play with Kane & Hossa for a game. Frolik at least allows you to play the 4th line occasionally because, even though he sucks, isn't a liability defensively.

I think Saad can probably handle it enough to play with Kane & Hossa and not look more out of place than Brunette. Saad at least has some wheels. He was a top-10 prospect at the beginning of the 10-11 season so I don't think it's inconceivable that he could be ready for the big show. And he's certainly a much more talented player than guys like Shaw, Hayes. Yes, those guys played pro hockey before being called up to the Hawks. But those guys don't have Saad's scoring ability and that ain't gonna change.

Yeah...Morrison blows.

If there was any realistic chance of Saad playing, he would be practicing with the team right now, not in Rockford practicing with the rest of the black aces.

Why is Smith's faking not taken into account...not a first time offender

Obviously. But there are still a couple more games in which Shaw isn't playing. If Hawks fail to generate offense tonight, I would say there's a small chance Saad gets a shot.

:rolleyes

:lol Pulls the same spin move, too. Seriously, people who get clocked in the head tend to just fall like a sack of bricks, not spin around theatrically and throw their gloves in the air.

Did you see how Schenn collapsed after Asham cross-checked him? That's someone actually getting hurt.

Ben Smith had a season ending injury in Rockford long ago.

Went to the Sharks game last night, great seats, terrible game for San Jose. Niemi was a total joke. They need a better goalie. The team just looked horrible as well. So many chances via power play and we could not do a thing. Final score did not even come close to what happened out there. What a let down for us Sharks fans. I don't see them winning this series. Maybe we'll get next game but that's about it.
