Garbage take. I've been watching the Flyers since my birth. I spent hard earned cash on the team. The Flyers are in my DNA. I'll say "we" every single time when I talk about whenever they win the Cup...

Just kidding.

I'll be dead.

I'm not going to die a happy sports fan.

Give it t ime bro, I was far too young to remember the LA Raiders winning in 1983 so the first championship I saw was the 1996 yankees and I was 20 years old, then t he Yanks tagged on another 4 more in the following ten years, the Hawks won 3X since 2010 and the women's soccer team won 2 World Cups, numerous tournaments and a few Olympic Golds. I never thought I would see so much success, is always fun to celebrate a championship.

Ditto on basketball, it is a bore - they might as well spot each team 100 points and play 5 minutes - they could still stretch the game out to at least an hour with all the fouls, free throws, time outs, etc, etc. Hockey though - die hard fan here, have been most of my life!

I have always loved soccer, well prior to the Yanks success or the Hawks success. I played from 7 years old until I blew my knee out trying out in college and needed surgery - damn astro turf field. I do not have any cartilage left in my right knee! Just love the game ya know?

Caps trade Niskanen to Flyers for Gudas - Flyers retaining 30% of Gudas salary

This is kind of a weird trade. Flyers got older. And why would the Caps want Gudas?

Why not? Nothing wrong with getting to game 7 of the SCF.

I still wear my Pens gear and they got swept by the damn islanders.

Bitter overreaction from losing...???

Idk, I'm still pissed off they lost. Felt like they had every reason to win. I'll get back to wearing it again.

It was a salary dump. Figured the Caps would get a better return though

I was at that show. Incredibly well timed "Let's go Bruins chant" into Dave introducing Victor. I regularly listen to that #41

Good trade for the Caps I think. Gudas adds a lot of nasty that the Caps don't have on their back end. He’s also cheaper and less expensive than Niskanen, and if this gives them space to bring back Hagelin, then yeah it’s a no brainer. Mac killing it as per usual.

Will miss Nisky for sure. He was a big part of what happened last year.

This might get me kicked out of this thread, but bandwagoning the NBA playoffs has made me realize how much better some of the other leagues are in many ways. NBA players actually give meaningful interviews instead of the hockey cliches that are so pointless, the rules stay enforced roughly the same in the playoff as in the regular season, the stars are better showcased, a bit of flair and swagger is celebrated instead instead of shit on by the Brian Burke Don Cherry "old school hockey shouldn't be fun" types.

The trophy handoff / celebration is far better in the NHL though, none of this owner first nonsense.

Final piece is in place.:)

That would be nice for him to be in one place at least at the start of the season.

NHL hockey>everything except for maybe football.

Do you really care much what the players say though?
