Keller Williams

couldn't find anything in the search engine, but this guy is the man

I have dream, but that's it...

He is from Fredericksburg which is pretty sweet and my friends see him all the time..

Just wondering..does anyone like this guy and what are his best albums?

I've only heard him once. He played after Yonder Mountain at a festival I went to. It was a fucking dance party. I loved it.

Re: Keller Williams

I've seen him live twice (once, so close my hands were on the stage) and he is the most talent musician ive seen. He is a one man act that can play for 3 hours. I strongly recommend seeing him

i used to listen to him a little, but it kind of got old to me real fast. i can see why people enjoy him, i just don't enjoy his guitar style at all

I've got one of his albums-Dream-but do not really know what else to get or what else is really good by him. Any suggestions?

There was an old Ant's user that delivered pizza to him in F'burg. That's all I really know about him.

Re: Keller Williams

Check out The Keller Williams Incident which is Keller plus String Cheese.
Grateful Grass is some Sting Cheese guys and Keller doing Dead tunes
Keller with Moseley, Droll and Sipe seem to be decent also.

I have seen Keller, but I just can't get into the looping when he is solo. It takes 5 minutes to set up a song; once he has 3 or 4 instruments looped, it is a good time. I guess he just aint for me.

Get "Stage".....good showcase of his live ability with looping, using different instruments, etc.

http://www.amazon.com/Stage-Keller-W...5310529&sr=8-8

I've seen him a handful of times at different festivals, and as talented as he is, the schtick gets old after awhile

Re: Keller Williams

after youtubing him, not really for me. Good guitar playing, not a good voice really, lyrics arent very good, and for as long as those songs are, they dont seem to go anywhere. Not terrible though

to the guy above me.
You're the typical dmb fan. anything that roams remotely close to the jam world or is different you instantly bash it. go see keller live then discuss

Really? I've heard the contrary, many people in the jam circuit saying he's a bit of an asshole.....But to your point, when I worked for Relix, he and Bob Weir & RatDog did a gig in Central Park and I got to watch them do soundcheck and briefly met him, and he seemed pretty chill

Re: Keller Williams

my thinking he isn't very appealing doesn't mean I am a close-minded music listener, its because I listened to 4-5 songs and found it not interesting, lyrically poor, and reliant on his guitar style which is really just a shtick.

I am a DMB fan, but i like paul simon, the beatles, cannonball adderly, brian eno, modest mouse, (...) more. I span a lot of genres and styles. Not being a fan of this guy doesnt equal bad music taste, sorry. Also, all dmb fans are NOT frat boys believe it or not.

honestly tho, i think keller has to be the absolute definition of the "you have to see him live to really appreciate it" musician. I used to like him liking a couple songs, but nothing compares to seeing him live. and its better to see him play in a small setting, and if thats not the case, sit very close to the front

Re: Keller Williams

Yeah Keller is amazing..saw him live in Cincinnati and met him after the show..started the crowd in a singalong of gate crashers suck and we were singing the fuck you part as he walked out. Just an awesome time

I really love his musicianship and he is a really good guy. I don't understand why he isn't bigger than he is but it's cool, Keller fans are a tight knit bunch. I do a pretty good cover of people watchin that is so much fun to play
