That was awesome! The Wild are a ways behind the Avs, but I'd like to put as much distance as possible between the two. Thanks for the hand. :thumbsup

Well of course I feel differently. If he would have gotten 5 and a game, he gets no suspension.

The GF needs to entertain and host a dinner party tonight. So no Bs/Habs for me.

Unless I catch the end.

I said a 2-1 Avs would be fine too. Opponent had Lack on Monday so want to keep that nice comfy lead in GAA and Save %. 3 way fight for 2,3,4 spot and basically a playoff berth in our division. I'm 2 and opponent this week is 4.

As for my boy JT, here's a great story.

Ughhhhhh...

I know I defend Q a ton on here, but this Brookbank thing baffles me when you have someone like Morin sitting in Rockford. Why are we skating him at forward?

Handzus has clearly been the worst skater on the ice. He's just freaking awful. He's old, and soooooo slow. He's hardly the reason the Hawks lost this one, but he's certainly no help at all.

Teuvo can't get here soon enough.

As far as the Avs, they are so freaking fast and just move the puck so well. They are up and down the ice in no time. Fun team to watch, but an absolute nightmare of a first round matchup for the Blackhawks.

Sharp not a good game.

bonzo48280 03-12-2014 09:34 PM

Really trying hard not to get on Q again, but a lot of the roster decisions tonight are unacceptable in such a huge game.

I know, pal. You are one of the guys I respect most in this thread... mostly for your bottomless patience.

Funny, I was just thinking the exact same thing... but the other way around!

Yes, the Avs had a good record against the Hawks this season, but I am still scared to death of what's looking more and more like a guaranteed first round matchup. Among other things, the Hawks have just developed that killer instinct in the playoffs where they just dominate. I'm still skeptical the Avs could beat them four times in the playoffs... at least this year. But I'd love to eat crow for that.

Other thing I love about the Hawks is their forecheck. Man are they fast and efficient when they roll that thing. So many good things they do that are barely noticeable... my favorite was Roszival basically calling on his super strength to prevent Dutch from getting that open netter early on. Little stuff like that is what championship teams are built on.

Overall, pleased with the Avs' effort. Still don't completely match up skill-wise (overall) to teams like CHI and STL, but there is zero quit in them.
