It's good to see them playing some great hockey. Missed today's game. What happened with Nolan?

Sucker punched joesuu. Carter also got a 10min misconduct but I believe for a different altercation.

I watched the game tonight at Nicole and Dustin's as a late celebration for my bday. They handed me a birthday card and inside of it was a picture of a Gaborik kings jersey (like from the online store). So they are buying me my Gabby jersey! You know you are so close to a friend that she buys another players jersey and not her husbands.

What an asshole move by Nolan.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

GM meetings starting today. The big one is still expanded OT. I bet something comes out of it either way. 4 on 4 for longer or 3 on 3 like Holland and a few want. Saw a RT from MacKenzie from the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League and they said they expanded to an extra 5 minutes of 3 on 3 and they had very few ties the last couple year. I'd honestly prefer 5 more minutes of 4 on 4 but I'm fine with either if it helps get rid of shootouts.

Take out. Like a date. Everyone got a little something.

NHL won't lose the shutout, but it should be more difficult to get to. I want the crowd to buzz when a game gets to one. Not be slightly annoyed haha.

Yeah, and I think that's what they are going for. The shootout created excitement went it started, but now it's like "crap, here we go again." Lessening the chance of getting to one is all I ask. I've stated 1000 times that I'm ok with ties, but also know they won't get rid of the shootout. So if you can do things to make it end before it gets there, I'm all for that.

make it harder to get to the SO + reward teams less for winning one than winning in regulation/OT.

They already do that...sort of. The first tie breaker is regulation/OT wins. They'll never go to the 3 point system. The current system helps clump teams together. They want that.

With how pissed Babs was yesterday, I'd hope for a much better effort. You are correct though. Someone comes out with a 2 point lead. Well maybe not, based off what we just talked about. lol

well also CBJ plays tonight in Dallas.
not a game they are likely to win.
then big advantage for DET tues resting in their hotel room while CBJ plays and then gets back late tonight.

Oh I didn't know they played tonight. Speaking of Dallas, how big is that Tim Thomas trade now for them? People were questioning it but with Lehtonen going down, that's a huge trade.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

no kidding, it was one of the trades I didn't get at all at the time too :lol

good for Tim Thomas, was going to split time with Luongo on one of the worst teams in the NHL and now he's the starter for a playoff contender.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Gonna be an interesting stretch run to the playoffs. Just saw that the Avs statistically have the toughest final 19 games of the season, with the teams they play having a combined .605 winning percentage. Will be a really telling time for a team that has exceeded everyone's expectations but who I still feel is a bit too green to make a ton of playoff noise (especially if they draw CHI/STL in the first round, which is looking more and more guaranteed).

:lol nice! Be careful, you might sustain a major injury and have to miss a lot of time wearing a sweater with that name on the back. ;)

Most difficult game left for the avs is on April 1st.
We'll see how quickly they can recover from that drubbing.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

I think Fox sports Detroit said Wings have the 4th toughest or something. I'm not confident. I'll be ok with it because it's like the team stopped playing for Babcock, just way too many injuries.

No not at all. They can do it, played good in NJ but lost late, played great against the Avs and lost in OT, and beat the shit out of NJ on Friday. Those are playoff teams/teams fighting for the playoffs. They played like crap on Sunday. so if they can give the effort from last week, plus start getting guys back, hopefully Helm this week and Weiss after that (although haven't heard anything so that's scary) and then if they are still in it in 2-3 weeks get Pavel back. If they make the playoffs and can get all or most of those guys back, they could be scary actually. Gotta get there though.

Hoping Detroit gets into the playoffs so Nashville gets a 2nd for Leggy instead of a 3rd.

Hey Chad, what was it like for the hometown fans when Legwand got moved? Obviously he's not a superstar or anything, but I imagine he's pretty well liked with how long he's been there.

He is very well liked. A lot of people weren't happy with it but the way I,and most that I talked to saw it, was that it was a great way to get value out of him because it was unlikely to return next year anyway. Definitely will be missed though.

I bet. Been there since the beginning. Wonder if he'd be willing to re-sign in the off season, or if he wants to move on to greener pastures.
