The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Worst game of the season. Expect them to have the best game of the season thus far against the Rangers Friday. Julien will light a fire under their ass after this one

Edit: this team needs to find their nastiness again. They need a game with a line brawl or a game with a bunch of fights to wake them up. When they're mad is when they play their best hockey.

The Dallas Stars, who currently sit in last place in the Central, would be tied for 2nd in the Metropolitan.

Eastern Conference hockey is hilarious.

Toronto is starting to fall into place. They let Pittsburgh get back into it last night and lost in a shootout. It's like they're trying to be shitty.

They are having a tough time with key injuries though. They were riddled earlier in the year, now they have gotten slightly healthier with only two key players out: Lupul and Bolland.

Bolland was a stud before he got hurt. Made that whole roster look stronger. Need him out there. Too bad he's gone for the next cajillion years. Fuck.

What's the deal with Lupul. Why is that guy so soft? Always injured.

They just turn it on and run shitty teams over. Coast for 2 periods, then put the foot down for 10 minutes, game over.

That said, do you think any Hawks fans have been watching lately and think, "if only Bryan Bickell wasn't hurt, we'd be even better!" Bickell sucks and even when he is hurt we have a surplus of forwards who could play. Jeremy Morin could do 95% of what Bickell does out there for a small fraction of the cost.

Plus, we could have kept Frolik around another year, would make us even deeper and PK would likely be better. I like Ben Smith, but our 4th line has had a rough go of it at times lately.

Yeah Happy Thanksgiving to all. As one of the gray hairs in this thread, I feel it is my obligation to tell you to have fun but stay safe!

You can't question the Hawks

I'm thankful for the current state of the Sharks-Kings rivalry. Helluva game last night.

Does anyone want to help a brother out with some fantasy hockey chatter? Specifically regarding mikko koivu vs voracek. Or is FH verboten in these parts?

Wings looking better the last few games. Isles look bad the last many games. Odds Wings still lose to them? Pretty good I'd say. This is the team they can't beat.

Pretty much this. Almost happy to see the wings. We are the Wings kryptonite.
We have sucked in November forever but this is ridiculous.

Happy Thanksgiving fellas. Ate way too much today.

I remember on here we had a thread in DMBc about one-uppers - people who feel the need to one-up others about their DMB experiences/knowledge. Well there is one mother fucker who follows me on Twitter who is like that with hockey. I tweeted a pic of me watching the Oilers game and football at the same time and he has to tell me he's watching the London Knights. He does this shit all the time. I'll be tweeting about a prospect and he'll chime in about all these fucking juniors he's watched online and talks about how he pays $150 to watch juniors games online. Dude is a pill

We are open to any hockey related talk, friend.

I give Koivu the nod over Voracek because he's a well rounded player who will benefit many of your stats. Assists, face offs, hits, plus minus, etc. Voracek is more one dimensional, although he is playing for the hotter-ish team right now.

This is exactly why I don't tweet. No control over who follows you.

I hate Twitter. One of the best decisions I ever made was deleting that garbage.

I also deleted my Facebook, so maybe it's just that I really dislike social media in general.

Not true, you can block people.

Bryz had a nice shutout in his debut last night, and the Oilers got tally's from Nuge, Eberle and Hall so, giddy-up. Need 40 more games just like that :thumbsup

Going to the Jackets/Oilers game tonight.

Maybe get some revenge from that 7-0 disaster a few nights ago :lol

Nothing getting better for them on the injury front though

Did not know that because I am pretty sure when I was on Twitter you did not have that option.

currently watching the Bruins/Rangers game. Love being able to watch hockey. It really isn't on enough, and even though i SHOULD be a fan, i just can't bring myself to watch the Blue Jackets when their games are on FSN Ohio.

HallowBillies7 11-29-2013 11:41 AM

Rangers head coach is sooooo bad. They start of the third totally flat...anyone could tell they needed a timeout. Instead he does nothing and the rangers are probably going to lose now. I hate when I feel like I could coach better...

Pierre asking Lucic about how many times his nose has been broken came off so awkward lol
