Typical Situation Two Step I’ve been hooked ever since! I just assumed Typical was a favourite for most everyone. It’s one of the originals that 4.0 (?) does justice to |
Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
I always love hearing people first show stats. So crazy what everyone ends up getting.
My first show, opener, was Dreaming Tree. What I would give to relive that. :lol |

I will say that the band was pretty big by that time in that area, had listened to UTTAD and Crash many times by that point. But damn did that show, that band, that sound leave quite an impression on me! |

Man, if I lived where DMB played bigger venues regularly when I was in HS... My first show, was NOLA Jazz Fest 98. I remember most of it like it was yesterday. Two Step opener was what immediately made them my favorite band. I was a junior in HS at this show. I remember a lot of people that were much much older dancing and singing everything so loud. I had no idea the band had such a following. Everybody we met was from out of state. It was the weekend before BTCS came out so some was very new. It was before the internet was a household requirement too. I remember the encore of Halloween. Boyd was very audible and it was played like the album, but the album wasn't even out yet. My friends and I were blown away at not just the show, but the people. Thanks for mentioning first shows. That brought back some great memories. When I was a Senior, I got to go to Mobile in 99 and then from 2000 on, the real road trips began. Good times! |

My first show, two days after Christmas in 1995:
https://antsmarching.org/tour/ViewShow.php?ShowID=2545 First full "Little Thing," "Typical" solo in the encore. Pretty standard looking back, but it hooked me hard. |
Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
First show. Champaign, IL 2005. Wasn’t a fan yet, only knew Ants marching and Crash. My now wife had an extra ticket and took me.

In the case of laststopdmb, I would like to hear more about those 68 shows you have been, I mean the road type of stories. And also from the others. We could even make a separate thread out of it, what do you think? |
Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
2003 I might have put 5,000 on my car just going to shows!

First show was actually a peach with a cool set. JTR, Grace, STDH, Break Free and the encore was on point. |

Re: Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel
Awesome, awesome choice for Sirius. This radio channel is really knocking it out of the park lately. I listen to DMB all the time anyway and now it's even worse.

That SPAC show is the best from 2004 in my humble opinion.
