Trotz system would drive sid and geno nuts. But Shero is big on family and wants to be Nashville, so theres a great chance Trotz ends up there.

sid and geno did ok under therrien, so i wouldn't be too worried about them

I may change my pick to stars over ducks. That wouldn't surprise me.

I don't think the Stars are good enough. While a Bruce coached team tends to fall flat, I don't expect it to happen in the first round this year.

bonzo thinks all of the teams that performed well (Avs, Blues, Ducks) are really bad for some reason.

Yeah, nothing really that Trotz did wrong. It's just the NHL coaching carousel. Time for a change. He'll have a new job in no time. Toronto for sure has to be taking a long look at him.

When he came over to the Avs bench and grabbed Giguere to skate those laps with him, I wept. One of the coolest moments I've seen, two guys in opposing sweaters, taking laps around the ice as both teams and a full house of fans cheer them on. Simply awesome.

you also have the Blues and Avs out in round one, and you have the Ducks winning in six when I said I "might" change my pick and it "wouldn't surprise me....so what's your point?

So many good series in this first round. This is going to be so awesome.

Also, can't wait for HNIC's opening montages:

Central champs, baby! I thought the Avs might be a playoff-caliber team with MacKinnon and Roy in the mix, but winning our division is a wonderful surprise.

I'm still not hopeful we'll get beyond the second round as the West is pretty damned tough. (I feel like the West has been routinely stronger than the East for much of the last 10-15 years.) But it's still a helluva lot better than watching everyone else in the playoffs!

I would love a Wings/Avs Cup matchup, but with Colorado beating the hated red filth, of course.

Forgot how good Howard was in that series, especially in game 4. He'll need to do that again if they want any chance at beating the Bruins.

Wings need to find a way to get it to 2-2 and then hope to get the captain back. I think B's in 6. It'll be a close series no matter what so one deflection, or one bad goal can change a lot.

Best time of year. LOVE the first round because you never have any idea what's gonna happen. Plus, hockey on every freaking night (a few times a night) for 2 weeks. Fuck the NBA. The unpredictability is what helps make this great.
