I think Richards is named captain pretty quick, yeah.

Every minute that Stan Bowman doesn't make a deal to improve this team, I hate him more and more.

I can see it going to him or Matt Greene, who's had an 'A' for the past 2-3 seasons and seems to have good leadership qualities. Adam Foote-ish.

From Dustin's wifes facebook: "Lots of talk that Dustin might get traded in the next few days, stay tuned. Meanwhile I'm purging the house of crap we have just in case....."

They shouldn't have trouble finding a place here in Chicago.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

Kings are looking to dump salary to make a run at Nash. Brown would need to be moved along with Penner. Bruins have the cap room to take on both of them. Penner is overpaid but his deal expires after this year anyway and the bruins can put him in the press box if he isn't performing.

~Crashintome89~ 02-24-2012 08:47 AM

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

Then why get Penner at all?

dduncan6er 02-24-2012 08:49 AM

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

Because the kings need to move him to free up cap space. They'd probably take a little bit less of a return if they can move Penner with Brown to free cap space for Nash.

The idea of Richards, Carter, and Gagne all together again doesn't get you all hot and bothered? ;)

Just bothered.

Edit: Not really.

I don't think they are going for Nash. Rumors out there say they were going for both but dropped the Nash talks and focused on Carter. Having both could hurt signing Quick. We'll see in 3 days I guess though.

Can't wait to see pics of Richie and Carter in LA together. Cute story.

Those two make me sick.

If the bruins don't win the cup I hope the kings do just to watch the flyers fans argue back and forth with each other about whether or not trading Carter and Richards was the right thing to do.

You'll get no arguments from me, even if they win four Stanley Cups (which they won't, BTW). Flyers placed themselves in a perfect position allowing a chance for Giroux and JVR to get more minutes and shine, plus the addition of Wayne Simmonds, Voracek, Schenn, and Coots.

I love the deal.

Yeah that won't happen. They are fighting with like 5 other teams just for #8. That's where they probably be is 8th if they get in. So they get Detroit or Vancouver in round 1. Then if they are good enough to upset one of them...then they get Detroit or Vancouver in round 2.

Caps prospect Evgeny Kuznetsov tore his ACL or MCL or both. Man, he got ridden into the boards today hard, no chance.

Blows my mind that this return went from "pretty solid" to "we got a steal."

There is absolutely nothing that will happen that will make me regret getting rid of those two.

She's a good fan though. Annoying as hell most of the time but she actually knows her shit. She took one of my best friends to the ASG in Ottawa for free so I give her a pass because she used to irritate the shit out of me.

Knuble scratched in back to back games now. I'm guessing he'll be on the move. I wouldn't mind him back in a Wings sweater.
